From past experience when there is one crazy day in the tourney...

The second day is usually Chalk. Except of course when it comes to a certain 10 seed winning today.

Or Za-Ve-Ah?

Criminey I actually heard Beaker Bob Fescoe call Xavier “ZaVeAh” today in reference to the freaking school. I get it that the Henry kid pronounces it differently but to apply it to all Xavier’s is freaking crazy.

I love Kansas City so much but I am dreading the next three weeks (or alternately loving it as Kim English’s bracket comes to life and we win six games!).

Mike doesn’t want that. He doesn’t need to go out and sign a bunch of McDonald’s All-Americans. He just needs to go find a few Burger King-type guys and he’ll get it done.

Since I missed most of last night's discussion

everyone throw out how you did yesterday. Also, where you plan on watching the Tigers^2.

I got 12-16, but Georgetown hurt me (Elite Eight there). Heading out to Skyhigh.

Same here, Georgetown was the only devastating blow.

Today I should keep Sweet Sixteen teams as long as Utah State can beat A&M and MSU avoids the upset against NMSU.

I hope it's gold.

That’s where we’ve been best, we beat Illinois, Chattanooga, and Tech, but lost to OU. We also wore it against Memphis and UCONN last year so it must be pretty good luck. As I said, black jerseys have been okay to us and white has also been okay. I’d prefer the old gold.

Grrr

My boss is doing everything in his power to prevent me from doing the same. First he moved our regular group meeting to today at 3:00, then at 12:30 he comes to me with something that has to be done RIGHT NOW, and now I’ve been waiting 30 minutes while he finishes a phone call. Aren’t there laws against this type of workplace abuse?

West Virginia

Just extended their run to 70-28. Feeling pretty good about picking them to win it all.

I just heard that Tubby Smith was leaning towards going to Auburn...

I think AU is way over their heads in their coach search.

Anyone else just hear that little tidbit about Tubby Smith to Auburn?

That would be an interesting hire, and would quiet the stupid talk ot MA leaving finally.

by JAThomp33 on Mar 19, 2010 1:10 PM CDT reply actions

They're not getting CMA or Tubby.

I have this funny feeling, however, that the Austin Torros will need to start their coaching search soon.

Hmm

I thought CMA was a candidate for every coaching job ever and that he’s just waiting for the chance to ditch Mizzou? That’s what the Jayhawks fans keep telling me.

Anyone who thinks CMA recruited his best friends son to come to Mizzou

and then is going to bolt has never met the man.

This.

MA isnt going anywhere until he retires. I think he has made that more than clear.

Well I can't go that far.

But I would be shocked if he leaves while Pressey is still on the roster.

I think he honestly believes this is a place

where he can win a National Championship… Nolan did it at Arkansas, which is not too different an institution from ours…

Just saying that its premature to say the man will retire here.

Why wouldnt they get Tubby?

Minnisota isnt that great of a place and he is a southern guy. If they throw a lot of money at him, who’s to say he wouldnt take it? I think the bigger question is why would they WANT Tubby. He turned a very talented team into an underacheiver this year (the personnel losses didnt help, but still).

by JAThomp33 on Mar 19, 2010 1:13 PM CDT up reply actions

Tubby Smith won a national championship at Kentucky and got driven out by all the racists there

and I have this feeling that him being black had a lot to do with it (but there is no proof and I am simply speculating here). I’m not sure he wants to go back down south again.

When you click the link button right below the subject line between the quotes and the picture.

You put in the address of the link, and then click the “open in a new window” box
