Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

It's the Fastest 40 Minutes in Podcasting!

It's a special "We're still dancing!" edition of the Fastest 40 Minutes, complete with an extensive breakdown of Missouri's win over Clemson earlier today, plus an audio version of a mini-Study Hall piece (real Study Hall to come tomorrow ... followed quickly by your WVU preview), an unveiling of today's Trifecta, a walk through the Big 12's tourney performance, and ... screaming girls in the background at RPT's place. Yeah.

Enjoy the podcasts

On a technical note: am I the only one while listening notice the mic go in and out every few seconds?

Great moments are born from great opportunity.

Does it go in and out from person to person...

…or does it come and go while only one person is talking? Sounds fine when I’m reviewing the track…

It varies, but I am starting to wonder if its just my computer because

my Firefox has been using a ridiculous amount of memory lately and think it may be do to the browser processing way too much info at once. Tomorrow I will download the direct mp3 and see if it happens and let you know.

What the deal?

Why do you always wait for the tourney to do multiple podcasts in a row, is there something wrong with the first 9/10ths of the season they we can’t have multiple podcasts?

I do appreciate the effort that goes into these I just wish we could enjoy them during the whole basketball season.

Big East press?

Louisville had their moments of it last year. I don’t know if they had the depth to pull it off this year, but that’s the closest I can think of to Mizzou’s defensive style.

Totally agreed on Denmon attitude

Denmon, and to some extent Kimmeh, are best when they attack the basket. I think they actually shoot better (or defenders can’t guard as well) when they vary their game instead of just spotting up.

On Oliver Purnell...

He’s an outstanding coach actually. You have to look at his Dayton teams to get a real feel for how good he is at taking players and putting them in a system where they can succeed.

S. Carolina is a football state through and through at the high school level, and Clemson pretty much recruits locally in hoops. The kids you recruit to Clemson and SC simply don’t have the polish you find in kids from the surrounding states in this region. He starts with a lot less. We outplayed them, but they have an outstanding coach.

From The State

http://www.thestate.com/2010/03/20/1208761/clemson-pressured-into-first-round.html

The money phrase:

Clemson led by nine points with 9:02 to play in the first half. At the half, the score was tied at 39.

However, Clemson’s first-half scoring was unsustainable due to unusually accurate 3-point shooting (8 of 13).
