This is just me..
..but I find this totally classless. On the kU message boards they said they were pulling for the big xii now – even Mizzou. No need for this.
"As loud as the ovations are for big threes or for thunderous dunks, some of the biggest roars you hear at Mizzou Arena these days are for steals, shot clock violations, and forcing opponents into timeouts in their own backcourt. Just as Anderson has crafted himself a team built on defensive intensity, he's built himself a fan base that echoes that same value system." -
I thought it was funny...

All the ku fans I know said they hope West Virginia blows us out
And how they deserve the national championship even though they lost.
Making you feel old since 9/26/09
We're Missouri fans.
We don’t like Kansas. We enjoy watching Kansas cry. And if these Kansas “fans” were rooting for Missouri, then they really aren’t fans.

hence i said this is just me.

I wasn't trying to be disrespectful or anything
just my opinion.

Glad to know we are this important to you
that you spend your free time putting together a video of our loss. I guess you gotta do it up big when you get so few opportunities. Only being able to celebrate 3 times in a season must be hard. No matter how many heartbreaking losses we may suffer while under great expectations, I would still trade being a Jayhawk, the 6-time defending Big 12 champions and a national championship to our credit any day of the week.
I’m glad that you are so happy because KU lost. Maybe spend more time putting together a video of all the great things your team did this year, rather than downing on KU? That is why you’re a fan of Missouri, right? Because you like them? Or, you just hate KU. Sometimes I get confused by some Missouri fans. The hate for KU over-rides the love for Missouri. That’s a shame, if you ask me.
Never will you see a video like this from a KU fan. Rock Chalk.

This is awkward, since we really do like you guys...
…but you can’t pretend like you’ve never reveled in a Missouri loss or struggle. Quin Snyder? Maybe Chase Daniel? Never? You didn’t enjoy that KC billboard making fun of Quin a while back? You’ve never said “God, I hate those guys!” or called us slavers (which is really embarrassing for everybody involved) or worn a Muck Fizzou shirt or anything? And you can’t say that, if we were a 1-seed with a long history and you were a 10-seed that had only recently found its footing again as a program, and we lost in the second round, we wouldn’t see an EXTREMELY similar post on RCT.
I obviously tend to neither approve or disapprove of posts like this one, but … this is still a rivalry, and you can’t pretend you always take the high road. Your team is shown plenty of respect in these parts (hell, something like two-thirds of us picked KU in our bracket pool … which sucks right about now), but in a rivalry that goes as far back as this one, you can’t expect Mizzou fans not to enjoy when their main rival falls on their face. In the same scenario, plenty of your own folks would do exactly the same. Whether this post went too far or not, it’s not exactly outside the realm of acceptability. It’s what makes a good rivalry.

I guess there's my answer.
I obviously tend to neither approve or disapprove of posts like this one,
It only takes on person to give off that perception of the fanbase.
Personally, I wouldn’t make a video to celebrate a Missouri loss, but that’s just me. I do like to see when you all lose, yes. I did, however, find myself a bit disappointed yesterday at work when I found out you all lost to WVU. It would have been REALLY great for the Big 12 v. Big East debate had the #5 regular season B12 team knocked off the Big East tournament champs. It would have been great for the conference.

Maybe I'm just touchy because the open wound is still raw....

With all due respect,
and I respect your civility and sentiment, but
run contrary to your contention that you would never see a video like this from a kU fan. As long as the sun rises, a contingent of MU fans that will revel in kU failures. As long as the sun rises, a contingent of kU fans will revel in MU failures. It’s the yin and yang of a good rivalry. The rest fall over a vast spectrum of feelings and perceptions…

I should add...
That the first video linked was embedded in an RCT post with a familiar author.
You know we’re big fans of what you all do over at Rock Chalk Talk, KC, but I think we all need to operate on the understanding that neither fanbase has much of a leg to stand on in this regard. The rivalry is what it is.

The difference, though,
with the Rivalry Day post is that it has to do with a KU-MU game. I tend to see more joy out of the Missouri fanbase (maybe it’s just the Missouri fans I know) when Kansas loses than when Missouri wins. The main point of what I said was “why not spend your time celebrating your own team, rather than celebrating your rivals’ loss?” I would much rather see KU win than Missouri lose. Yeah, a Missouri loss is cool and something to talk crap about, but not to make a video of an individual loss. (everytime it happens)
/treading lightly so as not to start something bigger than this really is

the difference...
Being a MU fan over the years, we have stumbled through some rough seasons. Part of what went along with that was a lot of gloating by KU fans. Not that it was really malicious in any way, but those jabs add up over the years. If MU fans seem to take more enjoyment out of these rivalry pieces it is because of this.

Fair enough.
I certainly didn’t think this was “malicious.” Just maybe a bit over the top, but it’s not so much my spot to police that here at RMN.
Cheers.
