WHB in KC said that Oregon offered him $3+ Mill!!!!
Yikes! Really glad money is not important to CMA now.

Oregon's coaching search . . .
looks like a disaster from the outside. That ought to be a very attractive job, but it’s been sitting vacant for an inordinately long time.

It tends to do that...
… when you offer exorbitant sums to people with no incentive to leave the jobs they already have, jobs that are probably a step up from Oregon in prestige.
Can’t imagine it would have been vacant this long if they’d gone after people they might have actually had a shot at hiring. Sorry, Oregon, Tom Izzo wasn’t going to happen.
But on the plus side
Oregon does have those God awful uniforms

Let's play a game
Sarcastic ways Mike Anderson can say no to Oregon. I’ll start with a terrible one.
“I only turn down offers from teams that can stay in a game until at least halftime”
"I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius."
"What's misunderstood about you?"
"Nobody thinks I'm a genius."

Response
CMA: “You are in the Pac 10 right?”
Oregon: “Yes we are.”
CMA: “HAHAHAHAHA”
Great moments are born from great opportunity.

Here's an interesting question.
I remember being at the Georgia game this year and wondering if we still would have played them if Anderson had bolted there. Now I wonder if we’d still play Oregon next year if Anderson left there (which he obviously isn’t going to do).
And if we would play them, when’s the last time a coach played his former team in his first year at his new job?
"And on the first day of Spring, number one has fallen."
Talk about damning with faint praise, Jeff Goodman
After striking out on the big boys, Oregon is now looking at Missouri coach Mike Anderson, according to sources close to the situation.
CMA may not be Tom Izzo, but dude that was passive aggressiveness worthy of the deep South.
Shit List
1. Navy’s triple option
2. Mangino, Mark
2. Walker, Kemba
3. Goodman, Jeff

For the record, Oregon could be a plum job
1. Portland and Seattle. The Pac NW turns out quality DI players. It’s not quite what it was 5 years ago, but still produces quality talent
2. Quality fan base. Oregon has a football/basketball balance similar to Mizzou. They complement rather than compete.
3. Wealthy benefactor. That always helps.
The biggest downsides are: way outdated facilities that they’re working on, and the Pac10 TV deal (and everybody is stuck with that).
Schools like Oregon know they’re not getting the Tom Izzos of the world but a story like this one is better than sending out a press release.

How long before the post it on CareerBuilder.com?

Actually, I think it might go to TheLadders.
"And on the first day of Spring, number one has fallen."
That would be a great commercial

sure, but I'm, in particular, noting the number of
confrontational 2nd semester know-it-all hippies that have something for you to sign or for you to read.
I got accosted by aforementioned sub-specie of hippie multiple times in Eugene.
The city is beautiful and the track facility is Mecca for anyone interested in Olympic type sports. Eugene is a very nice town and the campus is fairly nice.

Even assuming...
that Oregon and Missouri are historically comparable basketball programs, what coach leaves a program after securing a top-5 recruiting class?
But not the NCAA sanctions

Anderson also plays an exciting up-and-down style of play that would fit well in Oregon – which will open a brand-new facility named after Nike chairman Phil Knight’s son, Matthew, this year.

Oregon State fans should pay attention. This could be years of the most awesome dig at your rival ever invented!!!

Although how copacetic is it to dig at the rival
when the building is named after the benefactor’s dead son?
Apparently Matthew Knight didn’t graduate from college, but died while scuba diving in El Salvador, on break from shooting footage for a video to raise funds for an orphanage.
It’s not like Matthew Knight was committing plagiarism or anything.
