So, Oregon is apparently trying to lure Anderson with an extra $1.5 million, or as it'll be known in new world currency, "300,000 KFC Double Down sandwiches."
This is the future Pat Kilkenny wants to create.

We need to harness the power of the Double Down and make it our own.
Just like the Phillies harnessed the power of the Black Jack Taco:

That last picture looks like he is making sweet, desperate love to the taco.
I’m not sure how I feel about that.
Making fun of the "Mizzou Needs a Fullback" Club since...well, for a while, anyway.

"As loud as the ovations are for big 3s or for thunderous dunks, some of the biggest roars you hear at Mizzou Arena these days are for steals, shot clock violations, and forcing opponents into timeouts in their own backcourt. Just as Anderson has crafted himself a team built on defensive intensity, he's built himself a fan base that echoes that same value system." - RPT

Kilkenny went to St Louis after getting nowhere with Coach Anderson.
or he flew into St L because it was an eariler flight
to then drive (be driven) to Columbia to meet with………..

The Anderson-to-Oregon meme continues to dwindle.
I just can’t see a feasible scenario in which CMA says, “Yeah, I’m going to Oregon.” Between Reiter saying that he expects a statement from Anderson tonight (that would be a really, really rash decision to bolt) and now the lower actual offer, I think my lack of nervousness through this whole thing is starting to pay dividends.
Also, I’m waiting for a delayed flight. Let’s talk about stupid things, friends.

Not taking anything away from Anderson and what he's done for us,
but we could still establish a great program with a different coach. The world doesn’t come crashing down if we were to lose him (though we’re not going to) and there is simply no reason to “freak out.”
The recruiting class would follow him!
Life is good for Mizzou sports fans right now.
by elpjuly4 on Apr 17, 2010 8:11 AM CDT via mobile up reply actions
What about the 2008 recruits . . .
. . . his commitment to them is probably more important to him than his commitment to the school. Besides, Oregon only has two scholarships to give.
So after Anderson turns him down, they'll turn to their final option.
Rich “I think that the keys to the game for Missouri are to play good defense and good offense” Zvosec.
"And on the first day of Spring, number one has fallen."
Still no word?
You’d think he would have issued a statement or something by now. I guess even if he does stay…the pattern is clear…and we better get used to this.
Not worried a bit.
CMA is a Mizzou Man. I said it last year when the Chicken Littles were running around spouting “Memphis!” “Memphis!” and I’ll say it this year. Mizzou has never lost a coach as a stepping-stone program and we’re not gonna start now because we’re not a stepping-stone program.
Guy Lowman disagrees.
He left for Alabama after 1910. If history is any indication, I’d say CMA is as good as gone, considering our AD’s have been historically incapable of keeping any coach for a long time. I mean, our most tenured coach was only here for 32 years.
We’re losing a coach per century to other teams, that trend will continue. We haven’t had a coach leave yet this century; it’s now time for Mike Anderson to leave.
/sarcasm
"And on the first day of Spring, number one has fallen."
First, it's stlcardsfang and now you
Would you stop with all this sarcasm nonsense? Some of us are just a bit unnerved right now. It’s not that I don’t believe CMA is a person of integrity. The thing is, there is the notion of “efficient breach” of a contract. Just because CMA signed a longer term deal, it does not mean that he is ethically obligated to fulfill the rest of it. In fact, there is a buyout clause written into the contract which I am sure Oregon will gladly cover.

. . . integrity is making decisions based on something even stronger than the law: character. Mike Anderson has both!
