Can someone explain this:
The coach who got Missouri, somewhat sneakily, to the Elite Eight in 2009 will stay in Columbia.

…was he trying to say we came out of nowhere that year? That’s my only guess … if it’s not that, I have absolutely no clue what he was going for.

I think that's what he was going for.
Considering that we started the year with some mild expectations, and hadn’t been to the tourney for a while either. Hey, sneaky isn’t really a derogatory term though. Even still, it seems odd the way he put it in there.

He definitely means that nobody really remembers that we went there.
Missouri fans know, but around the country a lot of people look at Missouri and say, “Hey, didn’t they go to a Sweet Sixteen or something a few years back?”
