9. Buffalo Bills
Blaine Gabbert, QB, MissouriThe knock on Gabbert will be the Missouri system that helped Chase Daniel put up huge numbers. But because of his size (6-foot-5, 240 pounds), Gabbert is a different kind of prospect than Daniel and teams will believe more in the stats.

Early-morning overemotional reaction
Sports Illustrated can suck it.

I was referring to their criticism of Chase Daniel

But seriously...
What is the “knock” against Mizzou’s system? How are they more of a “system” than Oklahoma or Florida? I understand that some qb’s excel in college but can’t make the transition to the pros, and I understand that Mizzou’s spread system doesn’t necessarily translate to a pro system, but there seems to be almost a contemptuous sneering when Mizzou is mentioned. I remember a couple of years ago when Greg Easterbrook went on a season-long tear against Mizzou for being a factory school who only played patsies to pad their schedule (despite the fact that Mizzou opened the season against a Rose Bowl team and had a three-game stretch against Nub, Oklahoma State and Texas). While it was kind of amusing to hear Mizzou referred to as a factory school, I could never figure out where the blind hatred came from.
Easterbrook's bigger problem with Missouri...
… wasn’t the quality of competition, it was that Mizzou had 8 home games.
He didn’t bother to do enough research to realize that two of those “home” games were at neutral sites.
I was very glad I already thought Easterbrook was worthless before reading that...
…because I DEFINITELY thought he was worthless afterward. Five seconds of research would have led him to actual facts, but he stopped at two seconds.

There are worse things...
… than having a QB good enough to be considered a Top 10 pick as an underclassman.
Having Cody Hawkins as your QB, for instance.

. . . and Aldon Smith?
With another year like last year – and there is no indication he cannot put up equal to or better stats this year – we may well see two Tiger underclassmen projected for the first round by season’s end next year.
