Tuesday Night Live Thread: Give us some Roundtable questions

It's the summer, and I'm at a loss for interesting Rock M Roundtable questions (especially since I've already asked about Big Ten expansion in 13 different ways), so we're going to try something new: you come up with the questions. We'll choose from the list you provide. Serious questions are welcome, as are the completely ridiculous. Do your worst.

Who to hate?
Since we can’t string up and burn an “Illini” for about a hundred different reasons, if we join the Big Ten which mascot will inspire the most hatred, cartoon lynches, and homecoming skits in which Truman the Tiger is kidnapped by a rival mascot? Who will be the most creatively (or violently) mocked?
EA Sports is once again making NCAA Football. This year brings the 2011 version.
Are you excited to play this game? What are you looking forward to the most in it?
Will joining the Big 10
Help St. Louis recruiting, and help keep local kids from splitting to Iowa (Adrian Claybourne, number one recruit same year as Maclin) and Minnesota?
If you had the opportunity to be the
Commish of the conference Mizzou is in at the present time or President of NCAA. Would you take it and what would be your first big move?
Great moments are born from great opportunity.

Playing off of this
What would the Big 12 need to do in order to stop any teams from defecting? Is it possible at this time, or is it too late?
The Big 12 needs to...
1. Tell UT to get with the program and allow even revenue distribution (and become EQUAL partners with the rest of the league) or kiss the Conference good-bye.
2. Kiss the a$$e$ of MU and NU and convince them that things will be different.
3. Cancel their current TV contracts and negotiate new ones (this is called BARGANING) and create an alliance with the Pac-10 for increased revenues.

How about a Tiger hockey team?
Do you think a move to the Big 10 would result in Mizzou expanding their sports programs to include more sports like some of the other Big 10 teams? Or will we just use the extra money to get better with the 19 teams we have?
I like the thought behind this one...
And I want to say we would add a couple more teams but my instinct is we’ll pocket the money to expand Faurot Field to around 90,000

Men's Soccer?
We have a really really good club team.

Well
Big 10 member institutions do have hockey, but the Big 10 does not sponsor it as a sport, thus the members that play hockey belong to hockey only conferences…so a move to the Big 10 doesn’t mean anything for Mizzou hockey.
Before even discussing having a hockey team, you gotta have a place to play. The rink in Jeff City is REALLY small and it’s not even ice year-round. It serves its purpose for the club hockey team, but will never support an NCAA D1 team.
From what I understand, there is exactly 0% chance they’ll install an ice plant at Mizzou arena in the foreseeable future, and I’m not sure if they could squeeze a regulation rink onto the floor (the corner tunnels on either side of the Zou Crew stick out a little too far for hockey, so it would have to be an undersized rink.) Hearnes is a possibility, they have hosted ice events in the past with a portable ice plant, but from what I’ve heard, the piping would have to be re-laid, due to corrosion.
The only other alternatives that I can think of would be to partner up with a company that already runs rinks (Ice-o-plex has about 7 or 8 rinks across California, I’m sure there’s a similar company in the midwest) and build an ice facility with an arena that seats a minimum of 4,000. Or they could make an arrangement to play home games at Sprint Center or Savvis Center (unlikely) or Family Arena (St. Charles).
Trust me, I’d love to don a Mizzou sweater the next time I go to a hockey game, but I don’t see it as being a pressing issue anytime soon.
So you're saying they wouldn't convert the Ice Chalet ?
They wouldn’t get rid of the antiques?

The Ice Chalet...
has not been an Antiques store for over two years. Plus I saw something in the Saturday business section that indicated that someone was converting it into an indoor laser tag arena/arcade…

My 2 questions...
Serious: Which sports are you excited about going to the Big 10 with? Which ones do you think will suffer in the Big 10?
Funny: Which is sexier…Carmen Electra or ZouDave’s Sister? Which one is easier?
(expecting the Atomic Finger but I DON’T CARE…we got swept by kU in Baseball and I witnessed it in ALL of its horror!)

Way-early preseason polls are slowly leaking out...
and CMA’s boys are garnering a lot of top-10 type looks. We are quite excited about the class coming in and how it compliments the existing roster… but … is this too much?

Which jersey do you dislike more:
2008 Arrowhead or basketball gold alternate?

How about a softball question...
Okay, so you’re Coach Earleywine: we get to the world series, Chelsea Thomas is healthy and wants to pitch, do you let her burn a year of eligibility for the chance at eternal glory?
When we talked with Coach last week,
he said that if she is 100% healthy, she will absolutely play. He also said she is at about 90% right now (well, last Thursday).

allow me to clarify
that I had not seen a printed facsimile of that interview.
How about: what do you think the odds are that the Cavs come back, now down 3-2?
Roundtable Question:
If you could choose one item from each of the following categories (regardless of actually being able to find/purchase said item) what would you choose:
1) Throwback Jersey
2) Autographed Sports action-shot
3) Author signed book (sports related or not)
4) Band signed LP
5) Cast signed movie poster
Just things to discuss… and lists are fun and easy!
Bet me!

My suggestion
If you could pick any Tiger from the pre-Mike Anderson years, and get an 18-year-old clone of him to drop into the Mike Anderson system, who would you pick and why?
Or, maybe a better question: pick a Norm-era Tiger and a Quin-era Tiger that you think would have been more valuable in the Mike Anderson system.

Would Clarence Gilbert qualify . . .
. . . for both Norm-era and Quin era? How about a set of Gilbert twins to light up the scoreboard :- )
Justin Gage
That kinda hustle, he’d be the best 7th man in the country (though I think he’d only play 7-10 min a game).

Chievous! Drawing fouls like a madman.
He could fit defensively as well. Some others would include Gardner (thought he was perfect other than his decision to bolt. A running big man in Smith would be outstanding.
Any opinions on...
…Lew Perkins’ veiled threat to kill the Border War if Mizzou leaves the conference? It seems to me Kansas would have a lot more to lose than a Big Ten Mizzou, but maybe I’m biased.
the potential money that the schools make at Arrowhead
is a lot less then the potential bump in revenue Mizzou would get if they were to potentially get invited to the Big 10, and hypothetically accept the hypothetical invite.
So…..it would seem KU would have to find a team to try and drum up the same kind of excitement at Arrowhead to replace Missouri. That would be tough.

and having them come and spend money in the state they despise
because they don’t have any other choice would be delicious….
and as pissy as many Kansans are about Mo. in general, not sure they would do it just because of that, regardless of money.
How much of the Lost finale will you watch?
Just the 2.5 hour show, or will you do the whole preshow, the show, the late local news, and the event on Kimmel?
