Looks like Mizzou/Oregon will be on espn

Because Goergia took out Cal by run rule in game 2 10-1 no need for game 3.

Pac-10

Could still get five in the World Series. Oregon is definitely better than their record, this should be a good series.

Flat-screen set on ESPN, come hell or high water? Yep.

For those of you who really know softball...

A 65 mph pitch based on the distance of the mound is equivalent to what from a MLB pitcher? I’m curious how fast these batters reaction time has to be compared to baseballers.

do double plays...

occur more often in softball? or less than baseball?

by CEW on May 29, 2010 1:59 PM CDT up reply actions

I think it's about the same

the base paths are shorter, but it works both ways, shorter to run and shorter to throw

by Team on May 29, 2010 2:03 PM CDT up reply actions

Sort of...

But the ball is thrown much faster than players run. Therefore when you shorten the distance, it has a greater impact on the time taken to run from home to first than it does to throw from 2nd to first.

Fun Sam anecdote

He had to walk into the media room after the Furman game and dig through reporters to find his backpack. He immediately earned points in my book for looking at reporters to ask “Y’all wanna ask me some questions?” and cracking a huge goofy smile.

Yes But I do find it odd...

That one of their sports is in the “Sweet 16” right now and there is only a single paragraph in a links threat acknowledging it.

Annoying You Since 1986

by MUTIGERS86 on May 29, 2010 2:29 PM CDT up reply actions

Agreed

Especially since the West Coast is such a softball stronghold…you’d think they’d be a little more excited, even though Oregon doesn’t have the tradition of other Pac-10 schools.

by Rukasu on May 29, 2010 2:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Judging from the ESPN brackets

They don’t reseed the teams once they get down to eight??

by Rukasu on May 29, 2010 2:29 PM CDT reply actions

So it would be HUGE if Hawaii could take down Bama...

As even though we took 2 of 3 from them, that was when we had CT on the mound.

Annoying You Since 1986

by MUTIGERS86 on May 29, 2010 2:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Alright

So would we match up better against Hawaii/Alabama…obviously Alabama has been more consistent if they’ve won 28 in a row this season but whoever wins is no slouch. I’m leaning toward Hawaii…

by Rukasu on May 29, 2010 2:33 PM CDT up reply actions

Well Hawaii is still a very good team.

But they are probably one of the few teams left that we should beat even without CT. And they would be the first team we would play in the CWS, so it would be HUGE in a double elimination bracket to win the first game.
