For those of you who really know softball...
A 65 mph pitch based on the distance of the mound is equivalent to what from a MLB pitcher? I’m curious how fast these batters reaction time has to be compared to baseballers.

I would guess less because of how short the bases are from each other.

I think it's about the same
the base paths are shorter, but it works both ways, shorter to run and shorter to throw
Sort of...
But the ball is thrown much faster than players run. Therefore when you shorten the distance, it has a greater impact on the time taken to run from home to first than it does to throw from 2nd to first.

Fun Sam anecdote
He had to walk into the media room after the Furman game and dig through reporters to find his backpack. He immediately earned points in my book for looking at reporters to ask “Y’all wanna ask me some questions?” and cracking a huge goofy smile.

Yes But I do find it odd...

So it would be HUGE if Hawaii could take down Bama...
As even though we took 2 of 3 from them, that was when we had CT on the mound.

Well Hawaii is still a very good team.
But they are probably one of the few teams left that we should beat even without CT. And they would be the first team we would play in the CWS, so it would be HUGE in a double elimination bracket to win the first game.
