The new logo
Is Texas’s logo with all the other schools being christmas ornaments hanging off the horns.
"When among evil companions, try to fit in." - Wild Bill Donovan
Did you see the proposed logo for what would've been the Pac-16 East?
It was a Texas logo wearing a tuxedo, with five other schools riding on the coattails.
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Very Nice

ESPN is saying...
…a cabal of conference commissioners, NCAA officials, and businessmen helped broker the deal to rein in the Big Ten.
Im gonna have to say
That IF Texas A&M manages to make the SEC want us and them, we would leave in a heartbeat. Wouldn’t mind KU and K-state tagging along as well, but that’ll never happen
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
Officially official?
or do we wait to call it over until after tomorrow’s supposed pressers?
Texas stays
BTW, what will the divsions look like?
Or are we just gonna scrap that and go with a 9 team schedule in football?

I don't understand why this is so great for Mizzou.
We are still playing in the Big 12 now, but once again Texas is getting a lot more money than us. Without a good system of revenue sharing where we make as much money as Texas, we are just in the same position that we wanted out of in the first place. Add to that the fact that now we have to play dominant teams like UT and OU each year, and we lose an awesome rivalry with Nebraska, so the new Big 12 looks worse than the old one.
I guess it’s better than having a home, but if the Big Ten or SEC comes calling it should be a no-brainer to go due to the money involved.
The SEC and Big Ten aren't coming to bail us out.
Winning is the only option at this point. Win conference titles, get the monkey off our backs, get the national attention, get the bowl appearances, get the money, and build the reputation in preparation for the next go around. Mizzou has to take control of their own destiny.
I 100% agree...
A team has to take control of it’s own destiny. As you can guess I’m not a Mizzou fan, but it’s the same way for KU. Honestly I wanna see some more games in Arrowhead when both teams are in the top 5. Just with a different ending ha ha.

so, besides no colorado and nebraska
(and the possibility of new schools x and y)
what is different now than it was 12 months ago? we’re still making less money, our opinion is still meaningless compared to texas’, texas is still running this conference. i may be wrong here (i hope i am) but what makes this situation any better for mizzou?
CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS-2010 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!
loyalty clause
i’m also worried that is new deal will come with some pretty stiff penalties for leaving that money bags texas can afford but will cripple everybody else.

It's really not MUCH better...
… but it was better than the potential alternatives. Of course, if the Big 12 comes up with the sweet TV deal proposed by Fox, that’s CLEARLY better than what it was. Yes, no revenue sharing sucks and will kill the conference eventually, but no matter how unequal, more money > some money.
katz's article
is pretty interesting. sounds like the mega-conference smoke had quite a bit of fire behind it and several individuals/institutions across the country were in danger of losing a lot of money. also sounds like beebe isn’t quite the negotiating mastermind savior he is being made out to be.
i am glad mizzou is still in a conference and getting more money (hopefully we aren’t the $14 million) but i’m still disappointed. not only did we not get more respect in this whole debacle but we actually lost some (as undeserved as that is). and i was really hoping for something better than the insight bowl this year.

Great logo...
You put it out on our site so I had to write back on yours. It’s a great logo for the Big 12 but it’s forgetting something. Bailing wire. Being a Kansas farm boy, bailing wire and duct tape will fix anything.

Just to say how awesome this is.
Never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he is, he'll tell you soon enough. If he's not, don't embarrass him.
