There has been no official announcement, no official confirmation, but the rumor is that Mizzou Assistant Coach Tony Vitello will be leaving the Tigers to take a position with the TCU Horned Frogs.

-- This via the venerable Trripleplay. Though it's great for Vitello, it'd be a damn shame for Mizzou Baseball to lose Vitello, who has done a tremendous job with Mizzou pitchers during his tenure.

It was just a matter of time...

…but yeah, this would be a pretty big blow. Hopefully he comes back when Jamieson retires!

A position?

Let’s hope it is a head coaching roll. Anything less would curious.

It will be an assistant role.

TCU just lost an assistant to Houston, and I don’t think the head coaching job is exactly up for grabs after TCU’s College World Series berth last year.

That was what I was wondering. Knew TCU was in the CWS last year.

Should we really be losing assistants to other assistant roles? I am all for a head coaching opportunity for him but it doesn’t seem TCU should have more resources than Mizzou for baseball. Maybe I am way off base.

If this is true...

as I texted RPT earlier today, Matt Purke may not allow a run for TCU in the next two years.

Tony V is going

Several sources have confirmed he is leaving.

The TCU job is with a program that has been spending more and more to become a real player, just went to the CWS, has one of the hottest pitching prospects on the roster, is getting a ton of press, is located in Baseball Alley, and is the most often mentioned candidate to join the Big 12.

It’s a good move for him. In 3 years he’ll be head coach at some Big 12 or SEC school

Well, this is two "coaches" leaving the Tiger Baseball Staff.

Director of Operations and Outfield Positioning coach Luke Cassis will not be returning as well…

I feel like I have lost two of the best friends I have in the program!

There is a God and I'm not it, after that EVERYTHING is subjective. Be careful for what you wish for, you just might GET IT!
