Normally I'd advance the week already but there's one big conference match up we're still waiting for.

Our first Rock M Versus Rock M Game.
Once they finish their game, EA will alert me that the league is ready to advance. Don't forget to message people in Xbox Live to arrange good times for games and such. Or you can do it here in this thread.

…my epic comeback against Florida State wasn’t a big deal either. Well, I guess that was week one. But I had a bye in week two so I acted like I played that game both weeks.
Yeah that comeback was sweet as hell.
It happened in week one though. I’ll try to do better about highlighting the best games from the week.
As soon as Zou and Tam play their game, I’ll advance. We’ll have to really be on top on arranging mutual times for user games so we can advance at a decent rate.

…That’s fine. I wrote a little piece about how Quiz Rogers blew it with a fumble in the final minute and how lucky I got but it didn’t go through.
And Tam has had family in town and He was in KC for a bit. Pretty bad timing for the matchup. I’l try and talk to him and get him to play ASAP.

…no worries. I’ve got Red Dead, Risk, and Worms 2 to play…not to mention I’m about to get to my second prestige in MW2. Looking for that 200% completion. Oh…also that Mizzou off-line dynasty thing.
I tried to hook up with tamnco tonight
but it didn’t happen. Sent a couple of invites, never got a response. He was on and playing NCAA ’11, but played some other games and eventually started playing FIFA 09 instead.
At this point I don’t know if this matchup is going to happen any time soon. I’m ok with you just advancing the week and if I lose a simmed game then that’s just how it is. I don’t want the dynasty having to wait any longer on our account.

I’m not trying to point fingers here because I was completely unavailable Friday and Saturday of this weekend, but I’ve sent messages and invites on XBL while we’ve both been online and playing NCAA ‘11 and haven’t gotten a single response or acknowledgment of my attempts. He’s never initiated any contact with me of any kind. I just don’t want the rest of the league sitting on hold losing interest.
I think the main thing here is that if we’re all going to be in this league, you have to be able to communicate with each other. If you get a message, respond to it. I’ve added or attempted to add just about everyone that’s going to be in this things as a friend on XBL so we can get in touch with each other when the time comes. Just don’t be difficult. If you can’t play when someone else is available, at least send them a message back to tell them that.

it’d be one thing if it was just a game against the computer, but with two people going heads up im ok with being a little more relaxed to get it in. either way its no big deal to me.
plus my tv is broken and i wont get a new one til later in the week or next week (not that i don’t have access to another tv, but its not the greatest tv to play video games on)

…but come the next scheduled advancement if nothing is done I say we move along. Give the players one full week to get together should there be some sort of conflicting schedule and if nothing can be worked out, sim it. If you do have to leave the Xbox off for a week or so leave a quick message on here. Recruit from a computer somewhere (assuming you’ll have access). I’ve kind of had the the same problem as ZouDave. Haven’t had to play a pt (player team) only a few npts (non-player teams) but I have sent out friend requests to everyone and there are a couple that never accepted. If we all friend each other that really should make a world of difference in terms of communication (we can do talk in real time [with Bill Maher]). Each day, with bated breath, I check the online dynasty. Let’s keep this thing rolling.

So with these two Clemson players “doing talk” with the NCAA, it made me wonder what we’re going to do about mid season suspensions and the like. I assume we adjust rosters accordingly. Am I correct?
I look at our world as a parallel universe
if a player gets hurt in our world, it doesn’t mean he’s going to get hurt in the real world. Just like if a player gets hurt in the real world, it doesn’t mean he’s getting hurt in ours.
So is players get suspended, quit football, whatever, in real-life, our parallel universe doesn’t have to match it. We started our world with similar rosters, but now we’re branching into new territory.

We’re on week three now. I was out sick yesterday so advanced it since it didn’t look like tamnco was cooperating for the week.
I second the friend everyone on Live suggestion. We’ll advance to week 4 on Sunday. There’s a bunch more pvp games this week I think. So PLEASE make sure to coordinate with your opponent so we don’t have a repeat of slow Week 2.
Finally, I’d like to tell everyone that the computer completely handed me my ass as UNC yesterday. WTF. It was the video game equivalent of a trap game. Lots of fumbles, lots of the computer picking the perfect defense every time. Oh well… lol
FYI about the game
they released what they’re calling a Live Tuning Package (LTP) today that fixes a few issues in the game. One of the things it fixes is incoming recruit ratings and progression between seasons. The recruits you get this year are going to be much lower rated than you’d like or will be used to from other games. This LTP won’t fix that, because the recruits have already been generated. But, your players WILL progress much better now and recruits in year 2 and beyond will be better.
It also fixes a few gameplay issues, like big d-linemen jumping up and swatting passes too often, etc. They’re releasing an actual patch sometime in mid-August that will fix some other things, and they’re expecting to release another LTP probably around the start of the regular season.
Just FYI when you get prompted to download the LTP file, you will want it and will want to save it so you don’t have to download it every time you turn the game on.
Anyone have this problem...
…on certain PA plays when I fake the hand-off my qb just keeps running south like the back is waaaaaaayyyy back in the back field. About 20 yards into it he flips around and if I’m able to get the ball off I just lose a down but most of the time I take a HUGE sack. Any word on a fix?

That’s supposed to have been fixed by the last patch. It’s a little better than it was. Luckily I’ve only seen it happen to the computer and it’s resulted in safeties three times.
Never had it happen in this dynasty though.

…do you think they’ll put in the handshake after a score? It doesn’t feel right jumping up and down with teammates or celebrating with the mascot after an MU score.
On a side note, the owner of the business I work at just retired and handed over the place to his son. The old watch is an MU grad and loves the school…on the other hand…the new boss is a KU grad and loves the basketball team. I bet it’s a hoot watching the KU-MU basketball game at their place.

I’m just going to get absolutely mauled when I play the human vs human games. Something about this year’s game I am just NOT good at it at all yet. ’09 and ’10 I was pretty freaking good on offense, serviceable on defense, but I suck this year.
I’m going to end up 8-4, 7-5, that kind of team, with losses to human opponents. tamnco probably would have beaten me if we’d been able to get coordinated enough to play.

I’m always way better against the computer than I am against humans as well. Should be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

…and when you do you’ll feel just as good about ‘11 as ’09 or ’10. I had a bit of a struggle grasping everything as they do tend to tweak things every year so that it’s almost an entirely new experience. I’m hitting mine (I think, if not…look out).

Good time to play the worst game of NCAA I've ever played in my life
I have a decent opening drive for a FG and bust a long TD run and besides that I do literally nothing on offense. yeesh.

and every time I convinced myself that I thought I had your option somewhat figured out you got another big play. on that Dalton run I even had my defense shifted to the side he ran to and I still couldn’t come close to touching him.
that was a lot of fun though, playing real people is way better than playing the computer.

Sounds like you guys played a great game.
I’m excited about playing people instead of the CPU. I have NO idea how this Tech offense will work against humans. It could be TEH AWESOME. Or I could get my ass kicked.

Patch #2 hit today, boys
this will probably be the final patch of the game unless they find a MAJOR bug later.
Also, since we’re all on 360s, this is important:
the patch broke player progression in the off-season on 360s. There is now also a new tuner file that fixes that, so make sure you get that too.
There is actually a huge bug
I trust none of you to do this, but pump faking backwards makes all the defense run towards the qb and leaves all the receivers for an easy touchdown

wow that's horrible
anyone who does that is a bowl of suck. ZOUTiger and I played a 100% straight up game, everything was totally clean, no cheesing of any kind. That’s part of why the game was so fun.

…so you won’t see any of that crap outta me. This online dynasty is what I look forward to most each week. Not sure who I play next, I will check tonight, though I think it’s another CPU. Can’t wait to break in the team on in PvP match.
I wouldn’t worry too much about records at the end of THIS dynasty year. I figured I would lose several games and barely break .500. None of us have those A+ teams but we are all pretty evenly matched. This is great. How many “years” are we going to run this thing?

I’m hoping we can have this going for as long as everyone’s still interested in playing. We can add people too if people want to jump in. Obviously if they played in our weird ACC it would be better but I’m cool with whatever.

I wish the handshake was put in. Plus all the celebrations in the game right now would get flagged in real life. I know the game is just for fun but it would be cool to see more serious or realistic celebrations.

Friday night is definitely out
Saturday afternoon could be doable, but it depends on when I wake up tomorrow. I’ve been working 10-12 hours days this whole week and I’m exhausted.
Plus I’ve got a yard to mow, a downed tree limb to deal with and I too need a haircut. And I’ve got plans Saturday evening.
Let me see what tomorrow looks like and I’ll get back to you asap. Otherwise Sunday might work out the best.

i dont know if you can boot people now, but if not i’m pretty sure you can do it at the end of the season at the very least. i’m not trying to make this super serious, but it’d be nice for everyone to be active. i’ve got no problem losing to someone in a player vs. player game, but it bugs me a big if i’m going to lose by being simmed.
anyways, if everyone else is done go ahead and sim this week. he’s not going to respond and we don’t need to wait for us since the game won’t happen.
