Such a promising career down the tubes. He is going to have to go UFA to the NFL if he wants a chance and that is IF the team wants to take the risk on behavior issues.

what?
If he wants a real chance he needs to go to therapy.

Which came first?
Did he decide to leave school after the athletic department pulled his scholarship? Or did he leave on his own, forfeiting his scholarship?
The paragraph just before the quote used for this post seems to indicate that Washington left on his terms…and that by leaving, he gives up the scholarship.
He was permanently suspended from the football team on Sept. 1 but was allowed to keep his athletic scholarship provided he stayed enrolled at Missouri.
However, the University registrar’s office confirmed today that Washington is no longer enrolled at MU for the current semester, which under the conditions of his suspension would negate his scholarship.
Team spokesman Chad Moller declined further comment.
I kind of hope he left on his own and forfeited the scholarship. Despite all the rumor and accusations, he hasn’t been found guilty of anything yet, and I’d prefer the Athletic Department not make judgments on something like this before the courts have a chance to work it out.
Regardless, given the number of accusations that came out, I’m confident in saying the football team made the right decision to remove Washington from the team, and the football program is better off without the distraction at this point. Just a sad sequence of events all around.

My understanding is that that the AD's hands are tied. Pretty sure they're not allowed
to pull a scholarship after a certain point in the school calendar.
From a financial and strategic standpoint, they gain nothing by having him no longer on scholarship.
From a PR standpoint… what’s worse, having an accused felon suspended but still attending class free of charge, or forcing a kid out of school who has yet to be convicted?
Given all that, it seems logical that he left on his own, and NOT that the AD had anything to do with it.
Geeze.
From an academic stand point this is really sad. For everything else in this tragedy I don’t know what to think.
That is all I have about that.

Further academic stupid
the AD is going to take a hit on it’s grad ratting now.
Anyways, I’m not going to come out and say that we need to go all Egyptian here and strike his name from the temple walls, but I see no further reason to mention him again.

I almost feel sorry for him learning that he left school at this time without graduating while being a senior.
and then I think about some big, strong athlete repeatedly punching a girl in the face leaving her swollen and bloodied and any sense of compassion for him reverses course.
I think its a good thing that he left. I don’t see any positives that can come out of any of the current players having contact and exposure to him or his problems. Instead of “get money” we can drop the money part and leave it as just “get”.
Hopefully if convicted or not, he can turn his life around and never do anything like this again to another woman. But hopefully, if convicted, he gets punished sternly by our criminal justice system regardless of whether he can turn himself around or not.
innocent until proven guilty.
I’m not saying his doesn’t deserve most of the criticism he’s received, but perhaps he just took time off to focus on this case, and proving his innocence.
He wasn't attending classes, and honestly you wouldn't want to be him walking around on campus
Endless jeers and hateful words spurted out at you.
If he’s guilty I don’t feel bad for him, but most of us don’t really know what’s going on.
The UFL may be a stretch at this point.
What an idiot! Good riddence!
