It's the Fastest 40 Minutes in Podcasting! No, Really!

Photo

For the first time since June, we put on our podcasting shoes and put in work. Join RPT, The Beef and me as we discuss, quarter by quarter, Missouri's 27-24 win over San Diego State. We discuss the ebbs and flows of the game, the 'play-calling versus execution' debate, the unending story of Missouri fans' misery ... and the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. And volleyball. We also discuss volleyball. Not even The Beef can keep us under 50 minutes in this one.

But seriously, great podcast. Really liked the part on the recency biases, polls, etc. Also, RPT: how much of your love for volleyball came from back home? I distinctly remember it being a pretty big deal.

Different strokes, I guess.

I'm 6'2"

A girl that’s taller than me is just weird.

One thing I neglected to mention

Special teams coverage has been outstanding thus far.

my dad and i

had this conversation last night in keeping with the rmn tradition of looking at the positive side of things. hcgp has REALLY improved things in the special teams dept. in his tenure. matheny, wolfert, and now ressel are all bright spots in the program’s history now. before him, even in the corby jones years, the st’s were WOEFUL. we attempted 2 pt. conversions simply because there was no way we could convert a simple p.a.t.. props to him in this regard. not to mention kickoff and punt teams. this is a HUGE deal in my mind.

Wow!

I haven’t been following long enough to know this happend on here. I listened and liked. Something came to mind while I listened. Someone eluded to the fact that we just havn’t come away with a win in these games, you know after the 93 yrd TD and field goal that should have put us away. Then I remembered the Karma cleansing! You know, after the DW, multiple DWI’s week. I’m not superstisious at all, but maybe……………………………….
just maybe ………it worked. There were some powerful admissions out there. I had a couple that I hadn’t told anyone for 30+ years. And mine were not as astounding as others. That being said, a win is a win and I’ll take it. We are 3-0 and #24, and that is all that matters at this point in the season.

Fixed

Great comment though on the long TD (and INTs) that could (should?) have been demoralizing. What great character shown in overcoming those.

Haha

Not superstitious, just wary of the psychological impact of telling a group of kids that they are “Top 25”. I would rather there not be ANY rankings until it mattered (end of the season). By then you’ve earned it at least.

Can the auto-play on the podcast be disabled?

So it doesn’t play from the homepage?? It’s like I’m back in 1998 with ‘Under Construction’ animations again.

Auto play is always off.

It’s never been on. What browser are you using?

by Bill C. on Sep 20, 2010 10:23 AM CDT up reply actions

Chrome

Here’s the HTML for the audio on the homepage:
<video controls autoplay style=“margin: auto; position: absolute; top: 0; right: 0; bottom: 0; left: 0;” name=“media” src=“http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/443912/RMN_Podcast_09-19-10.mp3”></video>

http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/video.html#attr-media-autoplay

The fact that the autoplay attribute is defined makes it start since that’s how its supposed to work.
