Mizzou-Miami Links
- The Trib (Dave Matter): Writer's Block: Miami (Ohio)
BTS: Miami has already doubled its win total from last year. In what areas has this team improved most from 2009?
Schemtzer: In what areas hasn’t it improved? Offensively, they’ve cut down on turnovers. QB Zac Dysert has thrown one interception in the last two games after throwing four in the opener at Florida, and Miami still hasn’t lost a fumble this year. Defensively, improved speed is helping the young secondary correct mistakes, allowing the line and linebackers to be more aggressive. Trevor Cook also is kicking as a senior like it was hoped he would when he was given a scholarship as a freshman.
Conrad: The one area of improvement is the defensive line and its play against the run. The RedHawks rank fifth in the nation in run defense.

Dixon can get up pretty well for a little guy too...
referencing his first dunk, not the superman assist. This is really gonna be a fun team this year. Can’t wait for bball!
In all fairness..
We were at this time in 2008. And we were ranked around #5, they are ranked at lik e#7. So I don’t think its too far off. (Granted we did have a better season the year before…but still)
Annoying You Since 1986
Yes, but
In 2008 we had beaten what we had thought was going to be a strong IU team to start the season. Nebraska hasn’t played anyone yet, at all.
And they have a red-shirt freshman playing at the most important position in college football.
To start the season..
People thought Washington was going to be a strong team with a heisman contender. I think the situations between the two seasons are fairly similar.
But regardless of that, i don’t think its strange for any team in the top 10’s fans to be considering what they need to happen to get to the national title game.
Annoying You Since 1986
For what it's worth...
…quite a few people also thought Washington was going to be thoroughly mediocre, and any Heisman candidacy was an outright joke.
Have you bought your 2010 Missouri Football Preview yet??

Very True.
But you could say the same about Illinois and Juice in 2008.
Annoying You Since 1986
No kidding
Washington was hoping to be middle of the pack this year. Guess not.
The most off-putting part of the article is that it’s focus is on teams they haven’t even played yet playing well so Nebraska’s SOS improves. That’s a unique kind of arrogance.

Hey guys, quick Q:
Which home games are likely not to sell out? Other than this Saturday?
Trying to make some provisional plans with a buddy.
Well your choices are Colorado, Oklahoma, or K-State
Obviously Oklahoma on Homecoming will be brutal to find a ticket. Colorado should be the easiest, you’ll have fewer visiting fans, less of a chance for a spike in ticket sales(I’m sure K-State will sell out quickly if we go 3-1 or 4-0 through the October gauntlet), plus K-State is Senior Day.

OU ticket
not just brutal to find, but to pay for. Those are not cheap tickets (but I paid $47 for SDSU, so what do I know).
Finds MvP RoC to be a stellar individual
I just paid...
…$66 for a ticket and $15 for a service fee for the MU v Georgetown game. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Actually...
…I got three of them. Didn’t want to look like I was going to a game alone.

It's not a home game, but...
…KU fans are probably already selling their Arrowheads tickets. The only way you could get tickets cheaper would be to threaten to sue Dan Beebe.
I don't know . . .
. . . Lew Perkins is gone, so there might be a lot more tickets available now :-)
Predator gets up there better than I remember.
You don't have to come and confess, we lookin' for you, we gon' find you, we gon' find you. So you can run and tell that, Homeboy.
