Beef..my niece who was born about the same time as Veal has the same thing on her cheek.
I know it sounds odd, but the Dr put her on blood pressure medicine..low dose. Said that it will help it go away in a year or so. And, it’s working. Just a thought.

My guess is that with the thing being on her arm and of no current bother, we will probably just wait and see…but the blood pressure medication is an interesting piece to know

My only thoughts from the first half, now that I'm caught up:
1) I like that Texas is a little reckless in breaking the press (lots of jumping and passing or no-look passes) … but once they’re established in the halfcourt, they’re incredible.
2) There were 18 fouls called in the first half, and only one was against Tristan Thompson? Really? One? Not … eight? I have a new Cole Aldrich.

This is a tough one to watch

This was a winnable game and one that sucked that Mizzou lost. However, Texas is a very good basketball team, and in the grand scheme of things, a road loss to Texas is not out of the realm of the reasonable.

Big 12 title is out of the picture.
We just need to win some games and get maybe to 11 conference wins to get a first round bye in the Big 12 Tournament, and then maybe win 1 or 2 games and get a good NCAA seed. Luckily for us, the tough part of our schedule is almost over. If we can win our next 2, we’re 5-3 heading to Lawrence. That’s probably about as tough as tonight’s game, so we probably lose. Then, we’re 5-4 with OU, Tech, @ISU, BU, @K-State, @Neb, KU. I don’t think it’s out of the question to say that we should win at least 6 of our last 7, possibly all of them if we play well on the road. Weeknight road games at a half-empty Bob Devaney Center don’t worry me. Iowa State is really bad so we should win there, and K-State is also pretty bad. That’s a tough place to play, so I think that’s the one game we drop.

The only reason it does not scare me is because it's a weeknight.
They do not get good crowds on weeknights up in football land. Devaney is not a tough place to play. Honestly, I expect us to win our final 7 games, but if we had to drop one it’d be KSU. Manhattan on Saturday afternoon can be a scary place.
They could invent a day between Wednesday and Thursday and play in front of six people...
… and playing a Doc Sadler team would still be a point of concern for this program.

It's just sad that we never really even threatened to win this game.
If Bowers didn’t take an elbow to the face (which I just don’t understand how it’s not even a foul), I think we win because Safford wasn’t having a good night but was forced to play anyway. If Bowers were okay and took some playing time from Safford, we’d have a good chance.
If we don’t get him back by Wednesday, we could be in trouble against OSU. I think we can still win, but they have some good forwards with Olukemi and Moses.

In all honesty, I came on a wad of cash about a year ago and decided to buy some new suits. I bought 3 suits, so I had the guy pick out a shirt and a tie to go with each one, so I’d never clash…..and I have a girlfriend/wife. The shirt and tie get neatly tucked back into the garment bag with the suit once everything’s been cleaned and I never have to worry about anything ever again.

I still think this stat was the ballgame
Texas = 15 assists, 26 buckets
Tigers = 6 assists, 19 buckets
Two players with assists. That was a stagnant offense tonight. Very good opponent, not our night, etc. Just a really bad game to watch, but we’ll go get the Pokes on Wed. Hope L-Bow is okay, talk to everyone soon, good night.

We won’t win games with that individualistic of an offense.
The rebounding stats were disappointing
and it was tough to watch them grab one offensive board after another…but to me, it was infinitely more frustrating to repeatedly watch an out of control player shoot off the dribble.
That said, both facets sucked, but it’s an interesting debate.

but just wait until their network kicks in, and the construction industry falls apart in Texas because all the dump trucks are busy hauling metric tons of cash money to Austen.
I won't get into politics...
… but simple geography probably means that the construction industry in Texas falling apart seems incredibly unlikely.

How come the box score says
it was only 40 rebounds to 28? Feels like it was at LEAST two to one, if not more in their favor.

We shot 34%…. field goals. Only 22% form 3.
They were 52% and 30%.
So our field goal percentage was only a smidge higher than their three point percentage.
That is just some serious ouch.
AND the majority of our 3's were wide open.

Almost as amazing as Bowers', um, accomplishment:
Safford grabbed 11 rebounds and finished in the negative. That’s REALLY tough to do. He needed every bit of his 10% shooting and 4 turnovers to pull that off.
and he didn't just finish in the negative...

I calculate them when the official box score (on one of the teams' official sties) is posted.
Have an excel template set up to do the deed.

It was relatively complicated to set up the first time, yeah.
The game score formula itself isn’t that bad, but balancing it out to where the total of the game score points equals the total points scored is a little more dicey. I just had to set it up once, though — now I just copy-paste the template for each game and fill in the stats.
yeah, excel rules for stuff like that.
if you’re doing something over and over again, setting up a master sheet is the way to go. spending five hours on the spreadsheet once will save you days over the course of time.
