Here at Rock M Nation, we try to dance around bad news as best we can. We like to keep things light, you know? Nobody wants to be a bummer.
So, here we go: three crappy stories spun positively, complete with hilarious, unrelated gif APPARENTLY YOU CAN'T PUT GIFS IN THIS DAY GETS SO MUCH WORSE OH WELL HERE'S A CUTE LITTLE RODENT THING!
-Jimmy "Battle of the" Burge was arrested last night in Jasper County on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia. But on the bright side, it was ONLY three grams of marijuana and a shotgun! Coulda been a lot worse! Hey-o!
-Mizzou self-reported 17 secondary violations to the NCAA, the most enjoyable of which is "The girlfriend of a football player received an 'occasional' meal at the home of an athletics representative." Sounds sexy! Yeah!
-John Kadlec, the commentary voice of the football Tigers for the past 16 years, is retiring. He's a legend. My sincere hope is that he lives a long, healthy, awesome life, and he's replaced by Macho Man Randy Savage.
Mike Kelly: "Lawrence down the sideline, hemmed in at the 35, falls forward to the 11."
Randy Savage: "HE SNAPPED OFF THAT BIG RUN, OOOOH YEAH! LINEBACKERS NEED TO WORK ON THEIR PURSUIT ANGLES, OOOOH YEAH! IF THEY DON'T GET A FULLBACK, I'M GOING TO GIVE DAVID YOST A FLYING ELBOW DROP, OOOOOH YEAH!"

I read the list of "violations"...
…and my response to about two-thirds of them was “Wait … that’s a violation?”
My favorite was "someone who wasn't a coach signaled in plays during practice"
1) Why in the world would that be such an issue as to make a rule about it? They gonna impress the recruits by letting them call in the plays? Really?
2) Bo Pelini is an accidental genius
"I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius."
"What's misunderstood about you?"
"Nobody thinks I'm a genius."

I believe it's because there is a strict number of coaches each team is allowed to have.
If someone else is signaling in plays, they are liklely acting as an illegal coach.
I'm in the odd spot...
… of being both incredibly sad and incredibly happy Kadlec is stepping down. A great ambassador for the University, but I’m also quite glad to have some new blood at the color analyst spot.
Now? It better be Lorenzo Williams time. #Zo4Mo

Love me some Zo
But I think Kurtis Gregory deserves some consideration.

The race for the Fulmer Cup begins... now!

I hate change
Considering I’m only just about to turn 24, Kadlec has been one of the voices of Mizzou sports radio for as long as I can remember listening. Just like getting a new PA announcer, it just won’t feel quite right for a coupe of seasons.
I vote Kurtis as well.
Some people say "hate" is a strong word. If you're talking about kansas, it's not strong enough.
