English was 2-12.
Congratulations on getting 20 points against North Alabama, but that was a terrible effort today. Took a ton of stupid shots.
I guess, but he rushed these poor shots early in the shot clock.
Didn’t even look for something good.
I was okay with most of his shots, honestly...
…at least, right up until they hit the front of the rim.
Good for Tad Boyle.
I know how much this win means to that program, so good on him.

wish burks
would have gone to the nba. he was easily the best player on the floor. on both ends. dude is polished.

I think I'm most annoyed because I don't agree with this
Burks is a poor man’s Obi Muonelo who takes more shots. Today was his day, without a doubt, but he’s not playing in the NBA unless he shoots like that 15 more times, which he won’t.

He's tall enough and athletic enough to have a shot.
And he’s got a MUCH better overall game than Muonelo, even if you don’t count today…I don’t know if he’ll stick there, but he’s pretty damn good.
never said he'd be jordan
just that i wish he hadn’t been in a buffaloes uni today. :-)

Did anyone flip to NBC?
Guy making his college choice droned on and on before his pick and the NBC guy was getting visibly aggravated trying to urge him to make his pick before they had to cut away.

Some friends of mine here in JC have prism and have complained...
…about the feed cutting out due to network traffic several times. Maybe it’s beter in Columbia.
The in-laws have it, and haven't had any trouble...
…though I assume we use our TV more than they use theirs. But even if there are some issues … it’s cheaper than Mediacom, the internet is faster, and … I have had such an awful relationship with Mediacom that I’m ready to have issues with a different company.
The internet isn't faster
I get about 10-15 mbps download with Mediacom. When I had Century Link, I was lucky to get 3.5 to 4.
I’ve stuck with centurylink a long long time just becasue their customer service has always been so good. Every time I had an issue I’d phone them up, be talking to a live person within 2 rings, and usually had it all sorted in a jiff.
No idea if I can get faster connections elsewhere, but it’s always been fast enough for me… but then I’m not really into huge torrents or whatever, so maybe some of the rest of you are more demanding on that front.
I have Centurylink and I love it!
It can be a bit hiccuppy at times but compared to when I had Dish Network, It’s a VAST improvement.
There is a God and I'm not it, after that EVERYTHING is subjective. Be careful for what you wish for, you just might GET IT!
I'd like to chime in about CenturyLink
I’ll start by saying I have absolutely no affiliation with CenturyLink or Mediacom.
I switched to them because I was tired of bad customer service and low bandwidth from Mediacom. I’m sure its like Pepsi or Coke for some people, but I am MUCH happier with what I pay for from CenturyLink as an ISP.
We should all know that both companies stipulate “up to” in their speed “guarantees” however I have noticed significantly better uptime and overall latency. I almost always get 9-10 Mbps and a ping of <60 and I run two Xbox 360’s and four PC’s at my house most of the time. When I had Mediacom I lived in a house near campus and now with CenturyLink I live in an old home outside of city limits so I can’t even explain that difference.
CenturyLink’s TV package (especially the HD) is perhaps more expensive but I get the NFL network, the Big Ten network and several other sports channels standard. I’ve had no issues with my TV’s signal unless it was a specific hardware problem in which case repair technician’s have been prompt in fixing my problems.
I can’t tell you how CenturyLink will work for you or which company is better, but I can relate my experiences and in my mind CenturyLink is the lesser of two evils.

I blame Bowers.
Now way we lose if he gets a triple-double, just one board and block away. Salt in the wound much?
Wow, can't believe how good Colorado just played.
My 4 year old just gave me a hug and asked why I wasn’t happy. I told her that Missouri just lost in basketball. She said, “why didn’t Missouri just run faster?”

Methinks our boys will be angry on Wednesday
and I can’t wait to see it.
We owe Nebraska a GIANT whoopin’.
Actually, it was apparently only 47%...
Burks and Knutson: 17-for-28 (61%)
Everybody else: 16-for-42 (38%)
Oh yeah, and 19-for-22 from the line…that helps.
What record will win this conference?
I’m thinking we probably need to finish 12-4 if we want to be in the thick of things.
We absolutely have to win @A&M, and can’t drop any home games. If we could just be 4-1 going into the Texas game, we could hope to split @UT and @OSU. If we’re 5-2 at that point, we can win 4 of 5 (CU, @KU, OU, TTU, @ISU) to get to 9-3, then with Baylor, @KSU, @Neb, and KU. Not unreasonable to think we can win at least 3 of those, possibly 4. 13-3 still a possibility for this team, at least 11-5 seems likely.
ku won't lose a conference game.
"Football players, like prostitutes, are in the business of ruining their bodies for the pleasure of strangers" -Merle Kessler
I'm still interested to see how KU plays this year.
They looked a lot more vulnerable in the non-conference than recent years, but there’s no way to know how they play in conference. I don’t think they’ll be 15-1 like last year, but I do think that 13-3 is a strong possibility for them. It would be enormous if we could somehow beat them in Lawrence.
honestly (and this is way premature, i know)
but mizzou probably ruined its chances of a conference title today. i was always under the impression that 13-3 was probably what it was going to take to win it, and that probably just isn’t going to happen anymore. with @ksu, @ku, @tex, ku, ksu, @a&m, and bu on the schedule i see 3-5 more losses.
kU wins their seventh straight…

Colorado is better than we think.
They remind of me the 07-08 Texas team that we beat in Columbia. Mizzou wasn’t great that year, but we still knocked off the eventual Big 12 Champions (they tied KU with a 13-3 record, but won the head-to-head tiebreaker).
I think they're an 8-8 team or better
A go-to guy is indispensable, and a second option like Higgins is nice
colorado is good.
but we’re the #8 team in the country. if we really are the #8 team in the country, we win games like that.

I'm pretty sure Texas was top-10 when we played them.
Sometimes, really good teams lose road games they shouldn’t. Today, K-State lost by 14 in Stillwater, Baylor had some trouble with Texas Tech, and Michigan State lost @Penn State. Stuff happens.
It looks like there are only four consistent trifect-uh options at this point
So, is everyone going to go with some variant of Bowers, Denmon, Dixon, and Ratliffe in the future? What’s the fun in that?!?!?!

i think burks should get at least 2 of his shots in the top ten. the layup with spin and the turn around 19-footer with a second left.

Nobody misses against Missouri
with one second left on the shot clock…even if he had kicked the ball it would have gone in
i think he just gets overlooked playing in colorado

man i have not paid attention to pro bball in a while
all of those logos are way different then i remember them in… the 90s.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Memphis take him.
They love Big 12 players for some reason. They already have Tony Allen, Carroll (although he’s in the D-league now), Darrell Arthur, and Xavier Henry.
I'm not implying that Burks being awful is the consensus
I’m saying that combo guards that aren’t very good shooters aren’t in short supply, and Burks running up counting numbers on a bad team doesn’t do much for me personally, making his circus act today even more aggravating.

It's probably wrong to generalize an entire fanbase.
That said, I dealt with more rude, obnoxious, disturbingly annoying Chiefs at the Rams game this year than any other opposing fanbase. However, at least two of them were wearing Kansas shirts, so I think maybe that all the Mizzou fans that like the Chiefs are good, and all the KU people that like the Chiefs are bad.

And that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a good, local announcer. I listen to him probably almost 150 times a year (Cardinals and Mizzou basketball), and he’s very good every time. I hate to go back to the Mizzou game today, but does anybody know why Phil Pressey
didn’t come in until the second half? Was it the plan to not use him until we absolutely had to, or was he not deemed ready to play until they examined him closely at halftime?
my guess is...
anderson wanted to try something new to get some momentum going…and it actually worked pretty well, although he had a lot of trouble with his shot
His missed lay-up was a killer and took a weird fade-away, but he provided
a great spark for the team. We wouldn’t have been able to get as close as we did without him.

great mizzou crowd. very loud when they had something to cheer (not very often). overall crowd was about 3 times larger than last year, but still nowhere near full.
i was helping with the baby, so couldn’t follow the game as close as usual. seemed like cu made all the shots and got all breaks.
what happened with the ‘t’ on denmon? i thought they forced a turnover, then next thing its cu ball and a tech. we were at the other end of the court, so couldn’t really see what happened. anderson was begging for a tech of his own during the ft’s, standing out on the court with the team and staring at the ref. that whole sequence really took the air out of the rally.
burks is a really good offensive player, but come on… reminded me of richard roby a few ago… couldn’t miss from anywhere
Coach called a timeout
although it appeared that the CU player didn’t have the ball when that happened. Denmon flipped the ball to the official in an irritated but not aggressive manner, and then went to the timeout huddle, and turned around halfway there to realize he got T’ed up. Poor officiating all around.

So I take it no one saw the Marshawn Lynch run to all but clinch it for Seattle
I counted 8 broken tackles, including the stiff-arm which actually knocked the defender down completely. Impressive stuff as the Saints are just about done.

Oh no, I saw it.
That’s a pretty legendary run. Right up there with the Peterson run against Cleveland a few years ago.

Well, well!
A bit of good news: the Mizzou women came back from 12 down to upset Yvonne Anderson (40 min, 9 pts) and No. 22 Texas in overtime today. So we’ve got THAT going for us…
which is nice.

GODDAMNIT
I thought of going to that game, but the men’s team depressed me so much I thought “Naw, I’ve been disappointed enough for one day.”
Congratulations to them, though.
