Week Ten BlogPoll: Undefeated Teams Starting to Thin Out
So here is how you can tell I was sick as a dog last week. The ballot I filed for the BlogPoll was incredibly wack.
Wisconsin being left off for a last second Hail Mary loss?
SMU moving up on the ballot after losing?
Yeah. Mistakes all around.
What can I say? NyQuil is a helluva drug.
But this week's ballot should be less out of whack and more in line with what I actually think.
Remember a couple of weeks ago when there was a lot of chatter about all of these undefeated teams and how BCS Armageddon was on the horizon?
Yeah, not so much at this point. Maybe folks should wait until Armageddon actually happens and then talk about what it means.
Game of the week: LSU at Alabama on Saturday night. Appointment viewing. I'll also be attending Boise State at UNLV to see if the Rebels can keep it under 50.

Is Southern Miss REALLY the 23rd best team in the nation? Could Missouri not be expected to beat them?

So Miss has been downright awesome most of the last 4-6 weeks...

Yeah, but...
Chances are Missouri would look downright awesome against this year’s versions on Rice, Navy, SMU and UTEP.
I wouldn't say that at all, actually.
The Mizzou that played TAMU and I-State? Yes.
The Mizzou that played against Oklahoma State? No way in hell.

So...
You think thru 8 games, if we were to trade schedules, they’d be better than 4-4? I think they’d be 3-5.

Lots of teams might be 3-5 or worse against our schedule
since it’s one of the tougher ones in the country given the opponents to date.
3-5 is only one game worse than us.
But right now, today…I think Southern Miss is a top 25 team against THEIR schedule. I don’t get into hypotheticals when doing this because it would paralyze the process. The Golden Eagles are playing great football against their schedule and are playing at a more consistent level than many other teams in the country.

Auburn behind Southern Miss and Cincinnati?
Yeah, we have 3 losses, but they’re to top 11 teams. Plus, we have beaten a top 10 team. (yeah, tell that to Tuberville, I know).

I'd put Houston higher
Not BCS game higher, but higher than 14.
Still not a fan of Wisconsin??
I know they have now lost 2 in a row, but both losses were basically the same “hail mary” type of loss.
