Mizzou vs Texas A&M Highlights
"When your back's against the wall, you can't go nowhere but forward."
Grammar aside, the words of Randy Ponder are exceptionally true. At 3-4, Missouri was facing a series of must-win games if it wanted to salvage their season and become bowl eligible. The task started in College Station against the A&M Aggies, a team so loaded with talent that most Missouri starters wouldn't even be on the two-deep there.
That's what we're supposed to believe, right?
Larger version included after the jump, though that isn't really necessary with a YouTube video! And make sure you watch it in its High Def goodness!
Embiggened below:
I don't appear to have enough words yet, so I'm just going to keep typing until I see a green check mark. You can stop reading. Seriously, stop reading. Why are you still here? Are you expecting something interesting or funny? It isn't going to happen. I'm neither of those things. But, with that sentence I am done!

GREAT job...as always...ZD!
Loved the “See you in the SEC” at the end. Bully!!!!!!

so do we get a video on every sec game from here on?
LOUD APPLAUSE!!!!
Respect and honor your opponent, unless that opponent is a fictional bird. In which case you hit him until he falls, kick him until dead and burn the remains.
You won by cheating. It is not legal to throw a pass to your linemen. I saw a 6’6" 250+ guy wearing a number 80+ jersey catch at least 2 or 3 passes. The only reason the refs didn’t call it is because they are sticking it to the Aggies for defecting to the SEC.
NOT SURE IF SERIOUS

of course the funny thing is
Egnew usually gets called not a true tight end, but in the other direction. Now he’s a lineman pretending to be a receiver, pretending to be a tight end.

Something I should have mentioned in BTBS:
MAJOR kudos to Brayden Burnett for swallowing up that pitch to Swope on the second-to-last play of the game. If he crashes in, Swope picks up the first down easily, but he read it and steered Swope to the inside. Great, great play.

that play should have been shown in film about 20 times
everything about what Burnett was textbook contain. Read the key, got his outside shoulder wider than the ball carrier.
Or, someone on the o-line blew their block.
What do you mean I can't retire at 32?

The A&M guys said it was the only time the end did NOT crash all day
I also listened to the Sherman presser on the way home. One interesting tidbit, and you alluded to this yesterday talking about the secondary’s growth, Sherman talked a lot about drops. I bet when he looks at the film he’s gonna feel differently.
Honestly, I didn’t see a TON of flat out drops by A&M. I saw a lot of legit passes defensed. Tannehill can hit guys in tight windows, but our guys made plays on balls without sacrificing tackles.

On cleaning it up.
That’s the line I have expected all season.

YES
Ditto what Ausgiano said. Forced the ball carrier back inside to the big men.

Remember that time Mizzou went to College Station
without a single player who could make Texas A&M’s two-deep and beat them in overtime?
Good times.

I remember the last time we went to College Station and it didn't take OT....
30-9 and 38-31 in back to back trips to Aggieland….
Yeah, I noticed that too
“Oh, what a familiar sight, 81 running free down the field.” followed by
“Whoa, somebody just caught up to him very quickly, THAT’s not familiar”
sigh. I love the guys we have at WR, and they had impossible shoes to fill. But I miss Alexander/Maclin/et.al.

that wasn't a wide receiver, that was a tight end.
eric waters. i guess dx was technically a te too, though. :-)
well, blimey.
according to some Big 12 coaches, we haven't had a tight end on the field in quite some time.

I have to admit, when Trey and Kenji ran smack into each other 2nd qtr in the aTm end zone to allow a TD, I thought that derp might be the death knell of the game.
So proud of them for having short memories and making big plays in the 2nd half.

That play wasn't the only time I thought "Here we go again"
You had Josey’s fumble in the 3rd qt and Lucas’ holding call, each one of those plays came at crucial moments and each time you had the defense respond. This team has gone through a lot and I hope they have keep up the momentum against Baylor.
Hopefully this is the turning point for the rest of the season
what a great win

Two of my most favorite parts
I really like the scene at 4:45 where immediately after the interception by Lambert that was stripped from Swope, of Swope turning to walk away and as the reality of the play sets in, his head begins to hang down. Not hating on Swope in the least bit, just love the drama and intensity of the moment reflected in the minute action of his.
Another intense moment and still frame shot is at 5:06 immediately after Josey coughed up the ball and you can see his wide open eyes staring at the fumble but he’s pinned down and there’s nothing he can do about it.
This was a great, great, great and fantastic video because it shows the slugfest for what it was. I love seeing the back and forth of the battle instead of just the Mizzou high points because it helps to bring back those alternating feelings of despair and hope felt throughout a game such as this and helps you to remember how difficult it was for our team to truly earn this win.
Another totally awesome shot is at 8:11
when Gaines is stripping the ball out of Fuller’s arms as they are both in the air. As they drop to the ground and the ball is falling loose and the two dissapear from the screen, it reveals a large woman in the stands who was just raising her arms to cheer for what she assumed was a big completion to Fuller. Its really kind of freaky how that shot turned out with her presence being revealed as the play, the two players and the ball fell below the screen so that you could witness her reaction. Its definitely a scene worth a double look.
Thanks for making this video and sharing it.
and I really do love your choice for music in your videos, ZouDave. The Nebraska video with the two versions of “In the Air Tonight” was a masterful choice. I’d love to make a cd with all the music from all your Mizzou vids on it for the long car rides when I take my family on vacations.
Excellent video.
And to think that we have won consecutive games in College Station with inferior talent to AtM. Who knows what will happen when we play someone with talent that is inferior to us? Oh, I guess we haven’t played Kansas yet.
Great video
I really like how you showed positive plays from both teams. It gives a better idea of how the game really went when you look back and watch it.
