Haith was asked about the challenge of connecting with his new players, none of whom he recruited, and how he's got them to embrace his philosophy so seamlessly to this point.
"I’m a relationships guy, and I really believe, in order to get to your players, you can’t only communicate with them within that 94 feet," he said. "You’ve got to have some time with them off the court where they get to know you so that trust is built up. We’ve tried to get these guys to trust us, but we want to trust them too. So for in order for that to happen, you’ve got to have good, quality time with each other, and I think that’s just what we’ve done, and just spent a lot of time in the tape room watching and teaching, and these guys have seen the results. They’ve seen positive results. You’ve got an older team, they can identify with it, and I think that’s what helped with the guys buying in to what we’re trying to do."

Some key things I didn’t know:
*That website’s comment moderation really likes advertising spam.
*Kansas City is a Midwestern town not a Southern town and therefore no one there will support Mizzou
*DeArmond might literally be a cheerleader for Mizzou
*Jason Whitlock is a racist
Just goes to remind me how vastly different and better various website’s commenting community have developed.
I always kind of figured that to be the case
But I was just a little bit shocked with how blatant and juvenile it seemed. I’ve seen less angry stuff on 4chan.

It's an ongoing problem
we switched to moderating the first comment from anyone who comments, and require real names for commenters (which has its own enforcement issues). But I think the Star and P-D have just given up, which is too bad.

I am curious on why they do not have RMN on their blog list to the side?
If one were to Google search anything related to Mizzou sports, PowerMizzou/ Rivals usually pops up first with a good chance of RMN/SBnation not far behind. I originally found RMN on a google search, not Tigerbored.

I like to mix it up with some spice like the rest of them but definitely do my best to keep it fun and keep it clean here as that has been the example set by others who frequent this site. I also have respect for other team’s SB sites and don’t comment on them in any kind of trollish or derogatory fashion. RMN and the posters here really do set a positive example for alot of us internet floozies to learn from.

Meh...
I’m tired of this petty non-existent rivalry between the two schools. I grew up liking both of them because there was no reason not to. MSU fans hate Mizzou for some reason, as if they really have something to gain from playing us in any sport (considering they couldn’t beat Okie State in bball, idk what they think will happen… And football would be Western Illinois round 2) and I’ve never really returned the hate, even though I go to Mizzou. I understand the battle for state dollars and such toward the Universities, but Jesus is it really necessary to sell “Muck Fizzou” shirts? They can cry and SLU can cry all they want about us not scheduling them, but it’s easy to be mad about it and say we’re afraid when they never have to prove it on the court/field against us. I’m still an MSU fan (far below my Mizzou fandom of course) but the dumb hate needs to stop, it’s just annoying at this point.

But Ned Reynolds is a good man. He does a lot of charity work in and around Springfield and if you actually met him would come away a better person. He is a local sportscaster why in the hell would he cover hockey…they support their local teams as most local news channels do. I grew up in Springfield and have known Ned all my life. He covered me and other Springfield players from high school to Mizzou(I guess he was biased) You have a right to an opinion but it would be a better opinion if you actually knew the man.

is because KY3 would show Lady Bears games instead of Seinfeld. So I had to stay up unitl something like 1 am to watch Seinfeld. It was unbelievable.

I just don't think that's the right way to look at it
You play the game to play another high-profile game, to give your program the attention we all think it deserves. In this state’s difficult media market (at least per capita), any time MU can schedule a game to help it stand out from the coverage the Chiefs, Rams, Cards, Royals, and even Blues get, you need to take it.
SLU-MU would move the needle, at least in STL, and yeah, maybe there’s some redundancy there considering Braggin’ Rights, but establishing MU as the dominant in-state basketball program should be a priority, especially given SLU’s most recent attempt at joining the big-time (facilities, coach, etc.).
IMO
The game would rarely carry a high profile lable. This year it would last year maybe but before that not since Spoon was there. Also I’m sure finances come into play It would probably be a losing proposition for us there. Most years I doubt we generate any more buzz than a game against SEMO

I admit I don't live in STL so I am limited on that front.
But if it is a big deal in STL 5 years of beatdowns can be all undone by 1 loss to SLU so I don’t see how this would benefit MU at all. Another point though I have watched several of SLU’s games on TV and I pull for them whenever they play and honestly I do that for all Missouri teams.

There is a huge desire amongst the SLU faithful for a game between the Bilikens and the Tigers
Their story is simply that Mizzou refuses to schedule them. I’m not sure if that is true or not but I can certainly see reasons why the Tigers have little desire to schedule a game. In many ways its a no win situation that could backfire and add additional difficulties to recruiting in StL, something that we certainly have issues with.

Maybe if we would host a non-con against SLU at Mizzou Arena
it would be one game that would actually sell more tickets that the average non con home game, especially with alot of students being from St Louis?
And the current situation
of playing Illinois near Christmas in StL has worked well for Mizzou, win or lose (well, mostly when they win).

linking to the images would infer that I have seen them
and I’m pretty sure the actual spread of pornography here is against the TOS.

Morgan was an ass,
but he was a great character. Especially the way Butcher developed him in the later books. Then again, I love pretty much ALL the characters Butcher writes.
Oh, indeed
Really like how he takes geography and current events and brings them into the stories. If you haven’t read them, Curses and AAAA Wizardry do a great job of that.

Haven't read those.
I’ve tried to keep up with the short stories, but I generally am not interested in the other stories in the anthologies where his show up, so I find it hard to buy a book of which I’ll only read a few chapters.

OT: Did anyone ever hear what happened with MU's new Big MO drum?
Maneater article says it was supposed to debut at homecoming
I never saw it hit the field, nor an explanation why it didn’t. Did you?
