He carried a significant role in recruiting as well, correct? Seem to remember his name popping up a lot in recruiting, was he the one responsible for locking down Sheldon Richardson, or do I have that wrong?

Congrats to Coach Odom
As great as it was to have continuity on the staff for so many years, now that Pinkel has shown an ability to replace guys capably, I’m happy to see guys get other opportunities. Need to develop that coaching tree, cause Pinkel can’t coach forever, and his successor will be huge in maintaining the profile of the program(moving to the SEC certainly helps).

I have no idea how well that "coaching presence" translates from level to level
But Coach Odom was my head coach my senior year at Rock Bridge, and he was the kind of coach where if he told you to run through a wall, you ran through the wall. I imagine he’ll be very successful wherever he goes, and it would be cool to see him back here as a DC or HC here at some point in the future.

I will heartily add to the congratulations.
Coach Odom’s a great guy, one of the nicer football players you could hope to meet. And , along with Big Al Sterling, a pretty good linebacker on those 97, 98 teams.
I will also say that it’s events like this that make the Josh Henson hire a couple years ago loom even larger.
