Exclusive interview with former Auburn great Wes Flanigan about his time as a UALR and UAB coach, how he met Nebraska coach Doc Sadler and recruiting players such as David Rivers in Arkansas.
Excerpt:
In the early 1990s, Sadler, an Arkansas native, visited Parkview on recruiting trips and met the Patriots’ head coach Charles Ripley and Al Flanigan.
In the late 1990s, Sadler worked as an assistant under Ripley at Westark Community College. He then became head coach himself, and cemented Westark, now the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, as a national junior college power in the early 2000s.
