PrintWith 8 wrestlers still in the mix, Mizzou certainly has some potential to improve upon their current 16th place standings. Two wrestlers are still alive at the top of the bracket, and six in wrestlebacks. Those above will wrestle just one match this morning, but those below could wrestle as many as two. I will do my best to keep up with the action, but feel free to jump in should the spirit move you.

Having multiple wrestlers in the NCAA Tournament does not mean that they’re expected to win.
Waters was seeded and lost to an unseeded wrestler, but then lost to the #4.
McCormick was unseeded but lost only to seeded wrestlers, so can’t really say he had a particularly disappointing meet.
Schavrien made it to the Quarters as the #10 (notching an upset of the #7) and is one win away from at worst a 7th place finish (is that the All-American cutoff?). Certainly have to say he’s had a good meet.
Kyle Bradley had one win as an unseeded wrestler.
Toal had the 10th seed, but was 1-2, losing to 2 unseeded wrestlers. That seems like underachievement.
Dorian Henderson was 3-2 as an unseeded wrestler.
Larson was 0-2, but was unseeded.
Haynes beat every unseeded wrestler put in front of him, but lost to both seeded athletes
Dom Bradley has guaranteed at worst a 5th place finish, as the #5 seed. So, he can do nothing worse than meet expectations.
So, out of the 9 wrestlers Mizzou sent, most have performed as well as could be expected, only one or two have underachieved and two still have the chance to greatly overachieve. Would you agree that it’s been a reasonably successful meet for Mizzou so far?
