Mike Anderson Jr. on DeMarre's fb page: "He's always thanked the fans in everything that he has done, even when honestly it wasnt warranted."
Via Eric Blumberg
The comment I am assuming is about Mike Anderson thanking the fans.. even when we didn't deserve it. I hope that is just Mike Anderson Jrs. view, not Big Mike's.

So you're saying that Anderson said something publicly
that he wasn’t completely sincere about?
No, he wouldn’t dream of doing that.
"I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius."
"What's misunderstood about you?"
"Nobody thinks I'm a genius."

Reminder: Junior is, like, 23 years old or so.
He’s going to say some pretty bitchy things right now because he’s being attacked from all angles, and he’s about 23.
Yep.
He didn’t seem particularly mature when he was at Missouri, so should be no surprise that he says some immature things when things are difficult.

I forgive him in advance
For his excellent performance against OU on senior day.
What prompted this oh-so-well-timed comment?
"Smell the perfume but don't drink it because it might kill you." Erin Andrews recounting advise from Gary Pinkel
I've heard
On a surface level, the fan support was not great under Anderson. It was frankly embarrassing to have to see all those empty seats in the booster section. People getting up to leave if the game was decided, not showing up at all for lesser opponents, etc. The booster ticket-holders at Mizzou are snobs at worst; crummy, fair weather basketball fans at best.
Yeah yeah, I know “I’ve heard” isn’t worth much, but for whatever it’s worth (you decide), I’ve heard for years that Mike Anderson did not enjoy living in Columbia. I can’t blame him. Columbia has its problems with race. For instance—and I didn’t “hear” this, it’s a fact—you’re more than three times more likely to be pulled over by CPD if you’re black than if you’re white. Also, the way the city’s population is segregated is very stark and disturbing.
If that really is the case, it speaks volumes that a successful black man would rather live in Alabama or Arkansas than in Columbia, Missouri.
If you think this isn’t an issue in Columbia, then go ask Elson Floyd to tell you about his experiences here.
FWIW
I read somewhere (in the hundreds of articles/comments I’ve read in the last week) that Painter was really impressed with our facilities and atmosphere when they played here in 2007. So I googled it and found this article:
http://www.columbiamissourian.com/stories/2007/12/08/missouri-basketball-upends-purdue/
If he was really impressed with our atmosphere even though we only had 7700 in attendance that day, that’s a good thing.
Anyone else know if most of the big time schools have similar problems filling their arenas for the the creampuff parts of their schedules? I’m not talking about the KU’s, Dukes, and North Carolinas, but the next rung down. Just wondering…
