OU's senior linebacker Austin Box has been confirmed dead. The ME has confirmed it.
Per the Twitter account of KFOR in Oklahoma City. We've had our share of giggles at Box's expense, namely in the Sooner Disrespect Chronicles, but it goes without saying that our hearts go out to the Box and Sooner families. A tragedy.
Details appear to be sketchy, but here's the KFOR report.
UPDATE, 4:00 PM: Assuming this is real, a police report has surfaced.

My only thoughts about this man before today were “disrespect” and how I never looked forward to seeing him play in the middle of the field. Horrible, horrible tragedy, my prayers are with the Box and OU families.

This is terrible.
The young feel invincible. To see proof that it isn’t so is incredibly sad, no matter the circumstances. My thoughts go out to his family and his friends and teammates at Oklahoma.

The OD aspect is now being widely reported. Allegedly the witness told the dispatcher that it was pain pills. Tragic regardless, only compounded by the senseless angle.
