Mizzou Links, 6-8-11

Oh, JoePa...

Mizzou Football Links

  • The Trib: Missouri football players spend a day volunteering in Joplin (very well-done)
  • KC Star: Big-name jobs are open, but Pinkel is at home at Mizzou (Jeez, between Christensen's quote and the 118th "Pinkel's staying!" article, we're just tempting the hell out of the karma gods, aren't we...)
  • PowerMizzou: Camp recap: Kansas City

A cool story to come out of Tuesday's workout is from Zachary Hilsabeck of Barnard, Mo. Hilsabeck measured in at nearly 6'8", 310-pounds, and stood out in nearly every drill. However, Hilsabeck plays eight-man football (nearly every snap) at his high school, so to say the 2012 recruit is raw would be an understatement. It's unclear whether he's a possibility for an offer down the road, or a preferred walk-on situation, but the name "Colin Brown" was mentioned a few times when talking about Hilsabeck.

  • Sports Delve: NCAA Probation and College Football (Gotta love where Mizzou comes in.)

Mizzou Basketball Links

  • World University Games
Big 12 Sports: Marcus Denmon, Kim English, Khris Middleton Invited to World University Games Training Camp (Hey Kimmeh, tell Middleton it's alright to let us win every now and then.)

  • Dirty Tackle: Clint Dempsey tried to score with a scorpion kick (Yeah, this was almost the coolest thing I've ever seen.)
