For all the distress over Sheldon Richardson, I've heard #Mizzou's coaches have been raving about soph DT Marvin Foster this summer
So The Beef and I were exchanging e-mails the other day after Mizzou scored a couple of commitments, trying to figure out how the rest of the class was going to unfold. I mentioned how we sure were offering a lot more defensive tackles than defensive ends, then I drew up who Mizzou would have back at both units in 2012 (assuming no Sheldon Richardson -- either because he never qualifies or he's gone after one season). There was Marvin Foster's name atop the list. If he breaks through like RPT, Beef and I were expecting him to before the 1,402 injuries, then ... well, that would be lovely, no?

What's funny is, this Longhorn Network ruckus has all blown up over information that actually came to light a long time ago. That's how you know it's posturing. I'm not saying it's not a semi-savvy move on the part of A&M and Oklahoma (though uh, there's a slight difference between the SEC having talked to you last summer in an attempt to cover their bases, and the SEC "offering" you a spot on the roster), I'm not saying Big 12'ers don't have a legitimate gripe, and I'm not saying I'd complain if Andy Staples' lovely, beautiful, brilliant, impeccable smart idea came to fruition, but ... we knew about the possibility of Bevo TV showing high school games months ago. The only difference is, the quotes mentioned specific high school kids this week (which was possibly an NCAA violation).
