July 28! How in the hell is it July 28??
Mizzou Football Links
So right now, the list is this: Tim Barnes is a Raven, Kevin Rutland is a Jaguar, and Jeff Wolfert and Carl Gettis are Browns. And evidently Brad Smith might be about to become a Bear.
- Quarterback
The Trib (Dave Matter): James Franklin finds a mentor in veteran QBJimmy Costello decided late in the 2010 season that he wouldn't come back for his final year of eligibility and instead wanted to focus on the next stage of his life. He graduated in May and had plans to enlist in the military this fall. But when Tyler Gabbert left the team in May and Missouri's quarterback depth suddenly looked grim for 2011 — Pinkel likes to have four scholarship QBs on the roster — Pinkel reached out to the former walk-on. He called Costello's decision to put off career plans and return for one more season "really cool."

Gotta say ... I'm curious how Kansas' transition to a 3-4 goes considering they decided to do it after spring practices. I guess they don't have the talent to win much this year anyway, no matter what defense their in, so it really doesn't matter. I like the 3-4, and I respect a move, but ... am thinking they're looking at another lost season in 2011.

"My friend! My friend!" You big crybaby. Go bury him in the yard before he stinks up the place.
Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes
Bears fan here, would love to see him up here. Could you imagine him and Hester returning kicks together … I’m getting excited at just the thought of that. Plus it will give me a reason to wear my old school Brad Smith Mizzou jersey again.
days that end in "y"
are a good enough excuse to wear that jersey. :-)

There is never a reason NOT to wear a Brad Smith Mizzou jersey

Anderson wanted Kreklow.... that would've sucked if he got Ricky.

And we don't want Anderson to have a good player. We don't like Anderson.
I’m a huge fan of Kreklow and feel like he will be really good one day. The best aspect of his game is his shot, and midway through the season he just lost all confidence in it. He was also a really good defender. He was the Mr. Show-Me Basketball for a reason.
I'm sorry but I don't dislike Anderson.

I love readin comments on Rock Chalk Talk.
Saying how in 2009 they got screwed going 5-7. History is still Awaiting!!!!!! But in all seriousness, I think they’re going to have some problems this year installing that 3-4. I get that they want to put their best players on the field (their LB’s) but they really don’t have any big time nose tackle. I don’t know, they could get run over this year.
eh...
I don’t think we felt like we got screwed. Just a lot of things went really wrong and our team ended up shitting the bed basically. Here’s the comment that pretty much sums up the feeling.
Players pretty much quitting on the team, injuries, stale play-calling, a very hard schedule
I think the schedule strength is what we were debating but all in all the general consensus is that we should have been better than 5-7 but didn’t get it done.
As for this year and the 3-4, you definitely hit the nail on the head in terms of the reason why we are moving that direction and you also nailed it in terms of why everyone is concerned about it. We have no one to plug up the middle.
Ultimately I think we put a poll up in terms of our teams ceiling this year and I’m pretty sure it ended up being a majority vote for 4 wins tops. Most of all we just want to see a team that is more competitive and taking a step forward. Last year we didn’t even belong on the field with Big 12 competition for most of the year.
