Mizzou Football Links
Mizzou loses a commit because he doesn't want to be too far from home, but ... honestly, I think we're mostly okay with that since there are still quite a few nice names on the table, a few nice ways to spend that scholarship.

Former Mizzou Football Player Links
We'll put these under their own header, since there are suddenly quite a few links. Such is life when you actually have more than a small handful of former players in the pros. Gotta love the "Brad = Slash" development...

Other Football Links
So that all but puts an end to the baseless SEC rumors for ... at least a little while. I know it's fun to speculate, but ... I can't say I'm disappointed by that development.

Reading about the LHN over at BON
I’ve come to realize that Texas is the most misunderstood university in America. Not only is Deloss Dodds tactically brilliant for making this move, he single handedly saved the Big XII from the evil Aggies. And yet again, none of us appreciate all that Texas has done for us. Sometimes when I think about it what those poor long-suffering Horns fans have to endure in the Big XII, I just… I… sniff I’m sorry

I have completely flipped
Also, this is how I imagine Dodds feeling after his stooge Beebe blindsided him.

On the football field, I prefer Texas
Mack Brown is a stand-up guy while Stoops is too weaselly for my tastes. In everything else though, it’s no contest.
I loved the
do other schools think we’re arrogant? thread.
Classic. “No, everyone hates Notre Dame.”

I'm surprised that the top 30 MTV moments
included Eminem doing the performance with all the look alikes. I thought if you were going to include a moment involving him, it would be the performance with Elton John.
x

my son got one from the youth football camp and got it signed by egnew and ebner. very cool.

Saints fans really don't seem to like Chase
The comments on that thread are…Post-Dispatch-ish at best
How do you gin

First, make sure you can't spell his name...

It's just because Brees is a god in New Orleans
Even Archie Manning couldn’t back up Brees at this point. Probably the best thing for Daniel is to understudy for a few years and then move on and try for a starting job somewhere else.
Nice to see that the Huskers aren't upset about the way things turned out.
You know, like their headcoach claiming that the loss against A&M was all a conspiricy by BigXII officials in retaliation for the Huskers decision to leave the conference.
Stay classy, Nebraska!
Bo Pelini is a special person.
I’ve never hated anybody as quickly as I hated him. From the moment I saw him I knew he was a total jackass.
And there's literally a zero percent chance that a ref went to Pelini before the game
and said they were going to screw them over.
considering the spittle spewing rage
he was running around in all of that game, some official probably jokingly said ‘yeah Bo, we’re out to get you’ or something, but since he was mid-aneurysm, he couldn’t grasp the sarcasm.
Have officials been caught cheating at times? Sure, but very rarely, and I can’t ever remember a whole crew being implicated. And even then, why would you admit it?
And the concept that the B12 somehow orchestrated a officiating conspiracy against them is certifiably insane. So many parties would have to agree (not least of all, multiple officiating crews), and all it would take is one party to quietly squeal to the media. I find it hard to believe that 99% of officials aren’t primarily motivated by calling the best game they can- my guess is if some conf. official even floated this idea, numerous officials would have resigned immediately. And the massive black eye the conf. would get by doing such a thing and getting it exposed (and it would be exposed) would be infinitely worse than, for instance, having NU exit as B12 Champs.
The supremely stupid factor in the whole thing is the fact that NU has frankly been a borderline dirty team ever since the scream brothers showed up. All you have to do is look at personal foul stats for the years before there was even a hint that NU was about to give the conference the finger. They simply continued a trend.

This is true for practically every conspiracy theory ever
Thanks for putting it so well. You could take this and swap out same names and it would apply to a lot of things.

The best part is that they can't get over it
They won, they screwed Missouri and the Big Eight schools, they got away from Texas, they’re in a better situation, and yet they still have to periodically come by and justify leaving with whatever after-the-fact excuse they can come up with.
heh
Peter Terpstra in Columbia, Mo. asked: Mizzou historically always seems to be a let down in clutch moments. With last year’s OU victory, what are the chances that the Tigers can finally bring everything together and land themselves in the Big 12 Championship game or better?
DU: Missouri could put it together, but I don’t care what they do…there’s zero chance Missouri gets to the Big 12 Championship game this year. I’d bet my life on it.
