Eric "Painter is a sure thing" Blumberg reports via Twitter today that Louisville forward George Goode might not be playing basketball at Mizzou this season after all. Blumberg went on to tweet, "I have multiple explanations" as to why Goode won't be attending Mizzou, "so I'm not going to report any of them."
Goode, a 6'8" forward who spent his first three collegiate seasons riding the pine at Louisville, was expected to enroll at Missouri as a graduate student after completeing his undergraduate program this summer. NCAA rules would have allowed Goode to play for Mizzou beginning this season. A highly-touted recruit out of high school, Goode was never able to crack Rick Pitino's frontcourt rotation in three seasons at Louisville, despite occasional flashes of brililance.
Goode was set to provide much-needed frontcourt depth for the '11-'12 Tigers. Mizzou's only experienced returning post players are Ricardo Ratliffe, Steve Moore, and Laurence Bowers. Those three, along with redshirt freshman Kadeem Green, will be relied on to do the heavy lifting down low for the Tigers this season.
