Bill C. Family Update
It was a start-and-stop kind of night for the Bill C. family, but as of 5:35 a.m., Baby Bill C. had yet to make her appearance.

The Trib: Concerns on the O-lineOnly four players have started at center for Missouri the past 14 seasons. It's been a continuous cycle of All-Big XII snappers that started with Rob Riti in 1997 and continued through Tim Barnes last fall.
However, the next center streak is over before it got started: Travis Ruth will miss Saturday’s opener against Miami (Ohio), the game that was supposed to be the junior’s first career start at center. Out since Aug. 13 with a strained Achilles’ tendon, Ruth will watch as left guard Jayson Palmgren moves over and handles the snapping duties, just as he’s done the last three weeks of practice. By most accounts, it’s been a seamless transition.
"If you would have told me last year when the season ended that Jayson Palmgren would replace Tim Barnes … that would not have been my first guess of the guys we had," offensive coordinator David Yost said.

Alden in KC on...stuff
KC Star: What did you really expect him to say at this point? {Supposedly the most interesting thing to come from the Tiger Club meeting was Gary Pinkel saying Sheldon had lost 8 pounds of fat in camp and put on 8 pounds of muscle, and Alden talking about future plans for Faurot, which could eventually bring seating up to 80K. He also said all games but the Miami, OH game could be sold-out.}

The names of the suitors change by the year. Missouri softball Coach Ehren Earleywine’s answer does not.
When he learned that two Southeastern Conference programs had sought permission to speak with him about their coaching vacancies this summer, Earleywine gave MU associate athletic director Tim Hickman the same stock response.
"Just tell them no," said Earleywine, who has become increasingly coveted after leading the Tigers to three straight College World Series appearances. "I’m not even interested in hearing it."
The overtures never go further.
"I don’t know why any of them call, to be honest," Earleywine said. "I just don’t have any interest in leaving."
