You know, I've lived in Columbia for 14 years, have lived here during the summer for the last nine years ... and have never been to Mizzou Football Fan Day. How does that happen exactly?

BREAKOUT DEFENSIVE STAR: Missouri LB Zaviar Gooden. Some might contend that he broke out by posting a team-high 85 tackles last season. Yet he was overshadowed by higher-profile teammates and did not make the All-Big 12 team. This season, he'll be a focus of the Tigers' defense and will be a strong candidate for postseason honors. [...]

BEST OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR: Missouri's David Yost. He took over the reins in 2009 when former OC Dave Christensen left to become coach at Wyoming. Missouri has had one of the country's most productive passing games. This season, Yost is hoping for similar success working with a new starting quarterback, James Franklin.

The Maclin thing is getting a little weird, by the way. Obviously unknowns lead to c-r-a-z-y speculation on message boards, and I've been avoiding mentioning any of said ridiculousness, but ... it's odd that they still don't know what's ailing him, good or bad.

Other Football Links

1) I always enjoy podcasting with Allen from BH.

2) Guess who started the "drastic" Arizona State fight rumors that may have overshot what really happened? I'll give you a hint: it starts with "Sports By Broo--" I'll let you fill in the rest. I really wish he'd just leave college sports alone. (That said, Vontaze Burfict getting into a crazy fight isn't exactly the most difficult thing in the world to believe.)

3) I can't decide whether I think the FOIA Longhorn Network info below is interesting and damning, or ... if it just looks like what a Longhorn Network contract is supposed to look like. It's an intriguing read, but I'm leaning toward the latter.
