First, I'll identify the best teams by performance in each conference, then list a top 10 after the jump.

ACC:  Virginia Tech (3 points)

Big 12:  Oklahoma State (3 points)

Big East:  South Florida (4 Points)

Big Ten:  Northwestern (3 points) on the strength of an away BCS win (beat out Michigan)

Conference USA:  Houston (3 points)

Independents:  BYU (3 points)

MAC:  Temple (2 points) with a conference win (beat out Ball State, Bowling Green and Ohio).

Mountain West:  Boise State (2.5 points)

Pac 12:  USC (4 points) on the strength of wins vs 2 BCS teams (beat out California and Stanford)

SEC:  South Carolina (4 points) with an away conference win (beat out Alabama)

Sun Belt:  Florida International (4 points)

WAC:  Hawaii (2 points) with a tougher SOS (beat out New Mexico State)

Here's the best teams so far in College Football.  All these teams have 4 points so far.

1.  USC (only team to beat 2 teams from other BCS conferences)

Believe me, they barely won both games and I am sure they won't last here.  The rest of the rankings are somewhat subjective.

2.  South Carolina

3.  Alabama

4.  Florida International

5.  California

6.  Stanford

7.  South Florida

And the worst team so far?  The Georgia Bulldogs, with a total of -2.5 points (neutral site loss and home loss).

I will update the Napkin Rankings after next week's games.  As time goes on, I intend to give a full top 10.  For right now, there were too many teams tied with 3 points and there is not enough information to create tiebreakers.
