Kansas names former NFL assistant Dave Campo as defensive coordinator
I'll be honest, you guys: the past few weeks of my life haven't been grand. If you didn't read, I had a bit of an incident last week, and have spent about eight more hours in a dentist's chair than I'd prefer. And as a guy who really, really hates dentists, that's an eternity. And this is some pricey stuff; insurance is covering some of it, but it's still a hefty sum of money that's being injected directly into my mouth. And it's not like I'm swimming in money right now. Between paying for a honeymoon (expensive, yo), paying for plane tickets to go to other people's weddings (inviting me to their special day, the jerks), and feeding my ongoing addiction to Fabergé eggs, the ol' bank account is awfully low in funds, which has me -- pardon the pun -- down in the mouth.
So I would really like to take a moment to thank the Kansas football program for providing a consistent source of cheer and humor during these trying times for me. It's like they knew I needed to be cheered up, so they hired the funniest possible candidate for their defensive coordinator (and, for that matter, head coach) vacancies.
Thank you, Kansas football program. You are a beacon of hilarious light in an otherwise bleary landscape.

Dave Campo is bad at being a football coach.

The KC radio stations are already laughing at this hire as well
hes old, doesnt know how to recruit, and has a d-backs coach for the last 5 years.

Not only has he been a defensive backs coach...
…he was a defensive backs coach for a defense with terrible defensive back play.

Oh, Campo will be fine.
He’s probably a good hire, actually. I’m sure he can handle coordinating a defense full 2-star players at the marginally-D1 level. He was a disaster as Cowboys head coach, that’s for sure. He likes to scream and throw tantrums a lot, so that will be fun to watch. This staff is quickly becomming America’s Who’s Who of failed HCs. I hope they don’t stop here.

This pick only heightens that sense of dread.

the absence of cowher and gruden has made fisher look better than he is to teams in search of a coach.

Both the premise and quality of this article is complete shit. It was a clerical editor, and in no way is that “the next biggest scandal in college sports.” Yes, MU should be worried they spent millions less than reported and fixed the error. I can see it on ESPN now…“I can tolerate child rapists, but clerical errors? Where is the integrity in college sports?”
This is what I would call Bull Shit.

Meh
Absent evidence that there was a purposeful attempt to mislead (it sounds like overstatements are routine in these reports, in part because the guidelines are very loose) I don’t see how. That article takes a very negative slant on it, but as the commentors there point out, that report is not why we were admitted to the SEC.
No question our commitment to football needs to increase to stay competitive, but I assume it will be like what we had in the Big XII — we need to get to middle-of-the-pack for the SEC in order to compete for division titles on a regular basis.
Eh, no

I’ve had a lot more even blood sugar / energy levels after starting a paleo / primal eating regimen. There’s science and stuff, allegedly, but I don’t know enough biochem to know if it’s nonsense or not. But I don’t feel like I’m dying if I skip a meal anymore. I tried to mention this over on your blog, but it got blocked as spam. I think your dentist is in league with your webmaster.
