Mizzou 70, Texas A&M 51: Mike Dixon And Tigers Utilize Patented First-Half Run

For stretches, this looked like the typical Mizzou-A&M game. Mizzou was missing jumpers they typically make, A&M was playing hard and strong, and with 7:30 left in the first half, the Aggies led, 17-14.

And then, led by Mike Dixon, Mizzou went on a 28-2 run.

The Mizzou offense would dry up again after that -- the Tigers scored just one point over a 7:15 span -- but behind Ricardo Ratliffe and more strong rebounding from Marcus Denmon, Mizzou once again pulled away. They went on an 11-2 run over five minutes to put the game away.

Mizzou is now 17-1, 4-1 in conference. They will be tied for second place in the conference behind the loser of tonight's Baylor-Kansas game, and they will head to Waco to take on the third-ranked Bears Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

You know the drill by now: Study Hall tomorrow, celebration today. WHAT SAY YOU, DR. SOYOYE???

I will also note that when AC banned me over there, he falsely tried to claim it was because he found it really classless and unnecessary and low to make jokes about KU’s academic standing. Good to know they are as hypocritical as they are thin-skinned over at that echo chamber.

This bracketologist has been cracking me up

For the last month, he’s been projecting Texas to be a 2 seed (!), and had Mizzou as a 6 seed as recently as two weeks ago (!!). People have been giving him trouble about Texas, and he keeps saying “they’re going to put it together and win the Big 12 Tournament”. So when Mizzou beats Texas soundly, what does he do? Moves Texas to the 3 line (the highest 3, by the way), and graciously puts Mizzou as a 4.

http://basketballpredictions.blogspot.com/

He must really like the LHN, that’s all I can say.

by CBonerfied on Jan 16, 2012 8:10 PM CST reply actions

In my stop through Texas this weekend...

I found myself thoroughly enjoying the Longhorn Network.

Of course, they were just showing multiple re-airings of the Mizzou/Texas basketball game. Had I known that to be the case, maybe there wouldn’t have been as much cause for consternation when the LHN was announced…

I don’t think you can really go wrong either way, so rooting against Kansas(and for the opportunity to move into 1st place on Saturday) seems like the play here

In that sense, I think you have to pull for a Baylor win
