Morning!
Nothing better than a mug of coffee and toast to make the pain go away…

The increase in my love of coffee has been astoundingly quick.
Three years ago, I didn’t touch it. Now? Any time I can (before noon, that is; can’t drink it after noon).

I've only had two cups . . .
. . . in my entire life, and truly doubt if I have missed much.

Just like The Fiancee.

I'm like that,
except even though I literally gag on a cup of coffee, I have no problem cooking with coffee or Kahlua. Tiramisu is a favorite dessert, and a little coffee spices up chocolate. No idea why,
Same!
I was absolutely repulsed by it before I went on the cruise. I had it with dessert after everyone was saying how good it was, and I loved it. Now I carry around a thermos to class almost everyday…
But I still cannot drink it black. Cafe Ole (sp?) is the way to go.

See, I'm a black coffee guy...
…and I think it’s because I made myself drink it black to start, knowing that cream/sugar availability would always vary by location.

That's smart
Sugar I won’t do either. What’s your favorite kind? I got myself some Chiccory Coffee from Cafe du Monde when I was in NOLA, and its been very tasty

Fun story.
DC got a Pi (the deepdish place in STL), and its advertises as ‘St. Louis-style pizza.’ And its awesome. And when people out here say something about how ‘St. Louis-style pizza’ is awesome, I have to tell them that no, this is not ‘St. Louis-style pizza,’ this is an awesome Chicago-style deep dish place that happens to be from St. Lous. REAL St. Louis style pizza is cardboard with a greasy, tomato-flavored water and fake cheese.

I think this author sums it up best
In his piece about trying to track the history of Provel:
Of all the foods associated with St. Louis, none is more synonymous with the city than Provel. It is a litmus test of sorts, helping to identify who is from, who has left and who happens to be passing though St. Louis. For people from St. Louis, it means pride and childhood memories. For people who have left St. Louis, it offers a sense of nostalgia and perhaps homesickness. For those passing though, even if the stay is for years or even decades, it is a puzzlement and a source of contention between those who “get it” and those who do not.
