Stupid New Year's Day bowls happening on January 2 ... I had no idea tonight was Mizzou's first Big 12 game until last night ... thought there was still one more day in between. So your posting schedule for the day: Old Dominion Study Hall, Bowl Pick 'em Update, and Oklahoma preview. (And seven more features for SBN.) Coffee's a-brewin'.

PowerMizzou: Big 12 Hoops PreviewOn if his team is ready for the new conference schedule with no off weeks …
"It is a grind, and not only that, you make a great point, is the true round robin. I think we’re the only BCS Conference in the country that does that. You play a team on the road, you’ve got them coming back to your place or vice versa. You’re going to get a true champion, and that just sets it up to be just a tremendous grind this year. Preparing for that, I think we’ve done a good job with our nonconference schedule, but obviously, you get into league play, it is a little different. I think our guys are excited and ready for it. We’ve got an experienced ballclub, and they’ve been through it, so I think they’re excited about the opportunity." [...]
On if he was pleased with how his team handled stressful situations against Illinois and Old Dominion …
"There’s no question. I thought we responded very well in the Illinois and Old Dominion (games). You look across the country — I watched that Rutgers/Florida game the other night — and when you get in those situations, you’ve got to have good guard play, and I think our guys responded well down the stretch in both those games. Obviously, we want to eliminate what got us in those situations in both those games, but with that said, there was a lot of growth, there was a lot of learning involved in those two games. That can only help us down the stretch, and that can only help our team be better because we are going to have to play in some tight ballgames, a lot of tight ballgames. I would anticipate where every time we lace them up in the Big 12 it’s going to come down to the last four minutes, and we’ve got to be really good in those last four minutes."

Celebrity cook off
They would better incentivize me to watch that show if the loser — Guy or Rachel — was actually cooked and eaten, and thus removed from the gene pool.

So I was going to go to tonight's conference opener
But the tickets my buddy had were actually for Texas so now I’m desperately scrounging for 2-3 tickets together for a decent price (read: ~$20 a piece). If anyone has any spares, I’d be much obliged.
You either die a Tiger, or you live long enough to see yourself become a Jayhawk.
Pretty sure you can get tickets for $10 mutigers.com

Guess I'm not going
Can’t seem to get through on the phone and ticketmaster.com only has a pair of tickets for 47.50 in a bad location or 69.60 in a pretty good location. I can’t bring myself to that purchase. No $10 tickets for me.

Yea - call the box office.
They have $10 tickets.
Can’t get them online.

Guess who has two thumbs and is now going to tonight's game
Thanks to this guy?

Is the game on ESPN3 tonight?
I’m sure there’s some place I can look it up, but I’m logged in here!
Proud Meth Aggie since 2011.

Let’s go Tigers!!!

I was wondering why he hasn't played a single minute since the end of the semester
even though the games have been close, you would think that he would get SOME playing time
"I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order. Like they should be."
he played in the ODU game.
He came in with like 12 seconds before the TV timeout and then was put back on the bench when the tv timeout happened.

Trib Confirms it
link. This sucks. Talk about being thin on the front.

I mean...in theory, yeah...
…but we were getting crushed on the glass the other night, and he still only played about 30 seconds. It’s lost depth in terms of “tall guys on the roster,” but in terms of quality minutes, it’s almost no loss at all.

Pie Forever!
I don't know about that
right now, with as many minutes are our first 7 are playing and playing well, it doesn’t appear to be a big loss, however, I would think having Green available instead of anyone else off the bench first is important to have in our pocket. Should the team suffer a big injury or lose players early to foul trouble, Green isn’t that bad of a safety net when compared to Jones, Rosburg and Sutton. Losing our 8th player is a pretty big loss for this year’s already thin lineup.
but, what's done is done and there isn't alot that can be done about it anyways.
Just gotta hope these guys can keep their legs and stay healthy.
Andrew Jones' time to shine?
Wow, we’re really really thin in the front court.
I think we'll reconcile it by winning!

I am seriously pissed at FSN
Why don’t they put Blues games on Plus instead of Mizzou in Mid-MO? Regular Charter doesn’t have FSN plus. There are 82 hockey games, but only 18 B12 conference games. Not to mention that Mizzou is ranked 6/7.

I am certainly enjoying cheering for the SEC
during bowl week, e.g. W.D.E., sic ‘em. But note that there is no SEC football on tonight. It’s funny that some announcers are characterizing Mizzou being in the SEC this season.

I don't want to bring you down.
But it is funny that they are on in Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Evansville, and Newburgh Indiana

Maybe Mizzou needs to put up billboards in Terre Haute proclaiming ownership.

If Missouri put up a billboard, it would probably be for a porn warehouse.

I can’t fit any of my fireworks, porn or meth in them.

I was shooting for the mini O.C. Bible
Dr. Yueh gave to Paul, but I’m sure they needed bowls for their methlange.
That's because he is in need of the Spicccce.
he can probably find that too along the interstate in Missouri.
he needs those mini bowls
when the sleeper has awoken…
BTW, that movie was on Ovation last night. Man, it’s silly.

I wouldn't want a guy like this in a Tiger uniform.
Kevon Seymour of Pasadena (Calif.) Muir was annoyed he had No. 41 instead of his preferred No. 1. And Seymour willingly admits he’ll look at the rosters of potential colleges to see if No. 1 is available. If it’s not, the school’s chances of landing him diminish.
to each his own but its just such a petty topic to make a jackass of yourself over, especially when you haven’t even played a down of college ball yet.
plus we already have a #1 and I seriously wouldn't trade for anyone right now,
especially someone just coming out of high school.
what?
I already have my Bench Franklin start Mauk signs made. The first interception that Franklin throws I will use to legitimize my position to anyone who says anything about Franklin being really good. If it takes too long for an interception, I will just go back to the Oklahoma St game or the kU game as indipustable evidence that Franklin is a good qb.
If you’re not perfect as a 1st year starter, you will never be good. That’s just science.
