Come on down, Russell Hansbrough! Hansbrough is the fifth visitor from December 9 to either commit to Mizzou (Hansbrough, Ka'Ra Stewart, Sean Culkin) or reaffirm his commitment (Evan Boehm, Simon Goines). People got a little concerned when all of these people hadn't committed by December 10, but it takes a while sometimes. And Mizzou is evidently still in solid shape with other December Niners like Jake Meador (four-star OL from Indiana), David Perkins (four-star athlete from Indiana) and Aaron Curry (three-star defensive tackle from Keller, TX). We'll see. In the meantime, I posted this a while back, but it's fun to watch, so I'm posting it again: here are some clips of Hansbrough from his junior season. And in all ... a pretty good weekend for Mizzou considering they didn't actually play a game.

The play of the day from Saturday
when any Mizzou fan knew they had no chance was with a few minutes left in the first half as it looked liked Mizzou might chip away at the lead and get it down to 10 or so at halftime.
Mizzou got a turnover and went off on a fastbreak. Passed it crisply to Denmon, who gave up a contested 3 to pass it to Dixon who… was standing out of bounds on the baseline. Unguarded.
One of the dumbest plays I’ve seen this team make, and that’s when I knew they would never get it together to make a game of it in the second half.
Proud Meth Aggie since 2011.
Yep.
Really hope the road woes don’t continue this year. That play made me close my eyes and question the universe.

I do not get when Mizzou fans are ready to dump on and give up after one loss
Albeit an embarrassing loss, it is just one loss. It is typical of the media to embellish on a loss , even more so when it comes to Mizzou but for our own fans to run with the negative stories, I don’t get it. The stories of how our undefeated run was unimpressive due to the strength of schedule. We have one really bad game and the negative Nancys come out of the wood work. Realism, I get. Overtly optimistic can be foolish. Pessimists can go cheer ku. Optimistic with a bit of realiism is a fan

And really, it wasn't even THAT embarrassing.
Mizzou has lost by MUCH worse at Bramlage.

To K-state teams that were MUCH worse.
K-State was ranked for a reason.

It just does not go your way. The other team comes out red hot and you simply do not have what it take, on that day, to match it. After that happened in the first half, Missouri was simply not going to be bale to make up the deficit against a good KSU team playing at home.
I remain confident that this team will win some road games and compete for the league title.
In fact, the 2008-09 team (you know, the Elite Eight one) also lost by 16 at K State.
And if I remember right, that one was over pretty quickly too.
At the start of the season
If someone had said, you’ll be undefeated in non-conf and go 12-6 in the league, most of us would have gladly taken it.
The non-conf is in the bag and 12-6 in conference still seems realistic to me. The Iowa State game will tell us a lot.

Agreed, McZou . . .
. . . fairweather fans just float on the surface – the unsightly debris of the sports world.
57-54-9 . . . get used to it, jaybirds; and let us know when you want us to make it worse. Go Mizzou!

KC fan here
I was in Columbia this weekend visiting family and friends. We watched the Cotton Bowl game and I made my pro SEC vote known by pulling for Arky. All they could talk about was how bad the move to the sec was and how bad we were going to get creamed in the coming years. Then they dogged the basketball team and said we had a cream puff non con schedule and would be lucky to finish above .500 in conference play.
Just goes to show how much I appreciate Rock M. It’s a really good mix of realism and optimism. I read a lot more than I post but I appreciate everyone that contributes here.

I know Mizzou lost
But this was a great weekend in sports. Nice break from life. I know its “cliche” but I’m really just trying to enjoy the little things because that’s what these sports are about.
You either die a Tiger, or you live long enough to see yourself become a Jayhawk.
Thanks for the Indy Bowl video Bill C.
The football team is still undefeated since the announcement of MIZZOU to the SEC!

On the Russell Hansbrough commit and quote............
Decommiting from a college is by far one of the hardest things to do. I am officially a man and I am officially a Mizzou TIGER
and we should officially give him the jersey number, 40, so he can be that as well.
Nice get btw.
Looks like the type of back Pinkel likes and has good hands too.

Didn't fall too far down the polls.

watching the Russell Hansbrough video for the first time, things I really liked
1. he doesn’t appear to ever stop moving forward, always churning.
2. really impressive timing with his cuts in traffic. tough to coach that.
3. apparently not afraid of contact.
My guess is he’s going to be an awesome return man.

there is one of those digital countdown clocks….for Football National Signing Day. Maybe Mizzou needs that.
