I know that Rock M Nation is a very charitable site and as an avid reader and occasional commenter I thought this would be an excellent place to help raise money for my Movember efforts. This is the second year I've participated in Movember. Last year I raised the paltry sum of $110, but with your help I hope to double that this year.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with "Movember" here's a brief overview. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo's (which is, allegedly, an Australian slang term for mustache) these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. Last year 854,000 people participate in the the fundraiser and managed to raise more than $126 million dollars for the cause.

To highlight the importance of what I am doing, take a look at these statistics:

• 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
• This year 242,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed.
• This year 8,290 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Men’s health is a cause I am passionate about (because I am a man), but in order to make a difference I need your help. My commitment is to attempt to grow a moustache for the month of November and by changing my appearance, raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. This time, however, I probably won't be posting a picture of my attempt.
