Rally Baby approves. - Bill C.
A VERY, VERY well-earned celebration thread.
It was probably the right result, even if it was the wrong one (if that makes sense). Missouri played poorly enough to get blown out in the first half but was done favors by Tennessee mistakes and a kick return touchdown. In the second, Mizzou played well enough to come back a bit but did themselves in with mistakes of their own. The end result: a ___ Tennessee win. I'll have more to say about this in the coming days, but for now I'll just say that Mizzou chose a very bad time to play their worst two quarters since the Vanderbilt game.
That's the paragraph I wrote when Mizzou punted the ball back to Tennessee with about five minutes remaining in regulation, down seven points. (Look at me, writing copy before the end of the game to meet deadline! It's like I'm a real journalist!) And then like 17 things happened to convince me Missouri deserved to win the game. And then I knew they were going to lose when L'Damian Washington's foot didn't come down in-bounds in the third overtime. And then Mizzou won in the fourth overtime.
Honestly, that's all I've got right now. I'm fried. And happy. Fried and happy. Mizzou is one more win away from bowl eligibility.
Oh, and one more thing: Let's take a week off from the complaining about James Franklin, shall we? And (this one goes for me) the receiving corps?
