What a day for Mizzou. Sounds cliche, and has probably been said already, but this could be a game-changer for Mizzou going forward. And the fact that AR was the bridesmaid yet again, only makes it sweeter! M-I-Z!!!

Meh, not too worried about them,
Since we found a couple good replacements. More importantly, Mizzou essentially “sealed the border” in a year with so much in state talent. DGB is the superstar, but Mizzou got a LOT of homegrown talent this year.

I haven’t been paying any attention to your track record, but the thing about declaring “unvarnished truth” as your style is that you better be really really smart, because if you don’t land “truth” on the money ‘most every time, you’re just a common loud mouthed jackass, who pisses everyone off with non-stop high volume bullshit.

A) “We paid him?” Our university just got a 7% budget cut from the state. We can barely afford what that isn’t brown much less pay a student to catch some pig leather.
B) “We can’t win games” Oh yeah, just 8 games over the last 6 season. You know who hasn’t done that? Arkansas (2008: 5-7)
C) “They would destroy us if we played them” – Yeah, about that whole Cotton Bowl 38-7 hogwhooping we put on you guys?

T.J. Moe led the Tigers in receiving this past season with just 649 yards, so there will have to be a fundamental shift in Missouri’s offensive philosophy in order for Green-Beckham to put up the numbers that he is obviously capable of.
hmm.. a fundamental shift like, perhaps, once more having an extremely talented and true No. 1 WR?

I think he will regret it and transfer to a smaller school like Arkansas State or even Missouri State (which is right there in his hometown of Springfield Mo.) after this first year. I don’t think he will do it because of the program or what happens on the field, I think he does it once he figures out what kind of man Gary Pinkel is. Incredibly excited about DGB.
Got my tent and costume picked up today for the KU game. Ready to go hard.

I don't comment often
But I want to start so I’d thought i’d introduce my self. Ive been lurking on this site for about 18 months now. Currently in college that is not Mizzou (DII so my rooting interest is thankfully not conflicted) and I’m from the St. Louis area. Tigers are my #2 team behind the Cardinals. Hope that i can contribute something at least once to this site

Worth a rec.
To SEC, or not to SEC, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous Texas,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?
welcome.
and i’ve been around here a few years and still haven’t contributed anything. don’t worry, rmn is a patient bunch. :-)

I disagree, Sir.
You, like many here, contribute to the joyous chaos that is RMN.

You should try cinnamon roll cake sometime.
Yellow cake w/sour cream and brown sugar swirled in, topped with cream cheese frosting. It’s killer.

I love that the article basically makes it seem like Mizzou
got DGB merely by not being insane. Also, I’m glad Texas is so far away.
Yeah, I think it Texas was closer, Mack would have landed him in burnt orange.
They really like Mack Brown and I can’t help but feel a little respect for the guy after reading their positive comments.
I would like to thank Oklahoma for doing the heavy lifting in knocking Arkansas out of the running

Lobster, steak and fried sushi.
by TheHamburglar on Feb 1, 2012 10:08 PM CST up reply actions
If you fry it
Isn’t it no longer sushi? I thought all that made sushi, suhsi was that it was raw
I'm assuming it's tempura sushi he's referring to,
and it doesn’t fully cook the inside ingredients(¿asuming because I’ve only ever had the non-fried stuff?). On another note, the new student center actually has pretty good, freshly made sushi for pretty cheap. Has got to be the best value sushi in Columbia, which as I type makes me realize that I may be the first person to compare sushi places in Columbia, MO
by TheHamburglar on Feb 1, 2012 10:18 PM CST up reply actions
A common view...
But purists will lecture you for hours on how sushi can be cooked or uncooked.
Yeah, but only a secondary violation,
and was reported the next day. I mean, it’s not like we gave him the chopper, although from browsing that Hogville site, you’d think DGB’s got like 2 or 3 new ones in his parents garage
by TheHamburglar on Feb 1, 2012 10:33 PM CST up reply actions
Not to mention they "tried" to feed him all the alcohol he could drink
and who know’s how many bags of cash were stuffed in his pockets while in Fayetteville.
After reading that, I have 3 thoughts.
1. Mack Brown cannot retire soon enough. Even if we are in a different conference.
2. It really seems that not being all about football is important. I heard Joe Paterno rarely discussed football unless a recruit wanted to.
3. Arkansas. SMH. It will be a pleasure to beat them.

If Baylor can't win in College Station, will they win another road game?
They still have
Stillwater
Columbia
Austin
Hilton
Plus a home game against KU. I really think they might be closer to 4th than 2nd, which is much more an indictment of them than it is a compliment to Mizzou or KU.

Yep, reading up about this incident
It sounded very one sided with the much larger fanbase cornering the smaller group and beating and stabbing many of them to death. It wasn’t so much a riot as it was a murderous slaughter.
Gottlieb just said Mizzou was probably the most viable team to make a deep tournament run in the Big 12
