Mizzou Basketball Links, 2-13-12
So we'll do here what we did last week: a Mizzou basketball-only links post, followed by an Everything Else links post later in the morning. That seemed to work pretty well.
Also: teething really, really sucks. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I haven't enjoyed being unemployed since May 2010.
But it sure has given me a lot of time to soak up this incredible season (and that move to the SEC, too).

How many more points would Sundvold have had with the 3 point line?
A whole lot is my non-scientific answer
Hopefully not too biased
Is there a better group of guys on and off the court?

Yes!!!!
Instead of being at my office all day on RMN – now I am home with the kiddos on RMN.
I am letting them play “parent” – works like a charm.

Speaking of "The Kids in the Hall"
“My hands…they’re so freakishly small..”
"Dad, when I get old enough, can we go jayhawk hunting?" No, Son. Jayhawks don't really exist. "Seriously? Well, that's just stupid.."

Looking at the tourney schedule
and if I didn’t want the StL region enough before, I just found another reason. My best friend is getting married on the 15th, so not having a game that day would be great!
Are you listening committee?

denmon is thinking....
ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh shit, the mushrooms are starting early, i can’t see my hand .
can't we just pave over kansas?
Oh boy...
Soren Petro just gave some stats that say Mizzou gets the best homefield advantage in terms of calls and gets the best calls on the road.

Or maybe we commit fewer fouls.
Couldn’t be that.

FIFY
Soren Petro just gave some “stats” that say…
"I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order. Like they should be."
I believe it was fouls per game
So opponents playing Mizzou at home averaged 7 fouls more than Mizzou, and Mizzou on the road is completely neutral. He chalked it up to experience and good guard play. Baylor gets more fouls at home than on the road, Texas has a weak home court advantage but gets killed on the road, and the refs don’t favor the Beakers. Not sure I believe that last part. Stupid stats.

I was fortunate
To attend the Mike DeArmond retriement party at Harpo’s Westport. Great time and funny video.
The best story heard all evening was MD telling about his ancestors in Joplin during the Civil War. A group of jayhawkers rode up to the family farm, told the men to get shovels and start digging their graves. The littlest girl, 5 years old (not Great great Grandma) snuck out the back door and ran for the next farm. She explained what was going on at her house.
They had company, too—Frank and Jesse James. The neighbors and their guests snuck back to the DeArmond farm, captured the jayhawkers and made them dig Their own graves, and put them in them.
