Basketball Live Thread: Oklahoma State At Missouri

Oklahoma St. Cowboys at Missouri Tigers, Feb 15, 2012 8:00 PM CST

COLUMBIA, MO - FEBRUARY 11: Kim English #24 of the Missouri Tigers celebrates after scoring during the game against the Baylor Bears on February 11, 2012 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri. (Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty Images)

What: Mizzou Basketball
Who: Oklahoma State Cowboys (12-13, 5-7) at No. 3 Missouri Tigers (23-2, 10-2)
When: 8:00 PM CT
Where: Mizzou Arena (15,061)

TV: ESPN2 (Jon Sciambi, FRAN FRASCHILLA)
Radio: Tiger Radio Network (Mike Kelly, Linker Link)

We are 10 days away from what could probably be the biggest Missouri-Kansas basketball game in at least 20 years ... but only if both sides keep up their end of the bargain. Can Mizzou take care of business and move to 24-2? A sellout crowd at Mizzou Arena will find out...

which means a lot of people are laying money on mizzou -15.

by tigr on Feb 15, 2012 7:24 PM CST up reply actions

i'd do the 16

except for the fact this team gets up by a wide margin, then goes into lead protect mode a bit too soon. 16 is a lot if you take that into consideration, in my opinion.

Down with the pokes. it’s hard for me to hate on their teams (I can easily hate on Pickens and all, but have always loved watching our teams play). We should have their number this time around, but we need payback for the loss earlier this season.

I don’t have any problems with their fans, but the whole T. Boone, 40-year old man coach with annoying Okie accent, 28-year old QB, stud receiver who suspiciously returned for his redshirt junior season for no particular reason thing has soured me on the athletics program.

Between

vs. Georgia, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky and @Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M, I see two should-wins in Vanderbilt and Kentucky, and one that could be lumped in there as well in @TAMU, since you guys have done well there recently. The rest all look like sure losses to me.

by Obi_Ugochukwu on Feb 15, 2012 8:03 PM CST up reply actions

Uhhh

You play AT South Carolina. That is NOT a toss-up. They won 11 games and with Lattimore back, they should beat the Tigers handily. AT Florida is not a toss-up. The Gators had a top 10 defense last year and no one wins at the Swamp, especially your first time there. Georgia, much of the same. They won more games than the Tigers and return a better squad. I would love for you to beat them, but I don’t see it.

As for at Tennessee, you could win, but their record last year was deflated due to LOTS of injury. Playing at Neyland Stadium with 100,000+ isn’t ever going to be a cakewalk, again, especially in your first time there.

PAN-GRILLED ROSEMARY LAMB CHOPS
Non-stick cooking spray
4 lamb loin chops (about 4 ounces each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons rosemary
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 can (16 ounces) cannellini or great Northern white beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, no-salt added, drained

Preparation Time: Approximately 5 minutes

Cook Time: Approximately 20 minutes Servings: 4

Heat a cast-iron or other heavy skillet on high for 3 to 5 minutes and then spray with a little cooking spray. Dry the chops thoroughly and rub them with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon rosemary, salt and black pepper. Cook the chops over medium-high heat for 3 to 5 minutes per side or to the desired doneness.

Remove the chops from the skillet and keep warm on a plate. Reduce heat. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, rosemary and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute. Stir in beans, tomatoes, salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for 5 minutes. Top chops and serve from the skillet.
