— Via Jeff Goodman on Twitter. Supposedly he had interviewed for a head assistant position with his old boss, Ed DeChellis, at Navy a couple of days ago. Guess this means he's taking that job.
Combined with the recent departure of Isaac Chew, this news will inevitably result in a "Rats fleeing a sinking ship!!! NCAA's coming down on Haith!!" narrative from the more freaked-out corners of the Internet. If you are so inclined to join that chorus, feel free. It's possible that is true, and it's possible that Nestor just wanted to work closer to his home and with his old boss (and as a No. 1 assistant). One way or another, we'll find out when we need to find out.
(And one way or another, we'll find out what kind of coaching chops Frank Haith and Tim Fuller have now, huh? Mizzou just lost its perceived X's and O's guy.)
