Mizzou Moves To The SEC: LSU's Other Sports are Consistent(ly Very Good)

Mar 31, 2012; If LSU held a Spring Game and Les Miles spoke, but no one was actually there, DID HE STILL SOUND CRAZY?!?!

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and survived the heat. Here is another program that has had amazing success in football, but how has that translated (as much as it translate at a school like LSU) to the other sports? Where are they the strongest? Where are they pretty normal?

As always, we will review the last three years of records for each of the sports which Mizzou will be bringing to the SEC starting in July, along with the Mizzou results over the same time span (in bold and italics). Let's get to it, starting with the fall sports (season listed is year in which the sport completed so fall sports will be a calendar year behind):

Summary:

As this is our 5th review, LSU represents the strongest all-around program we have looked at. What struck me (beyond the ridiculousness of the indoor/outdoor track program, especially when compared to how pedestrian the X-country program appears to be) is how consistent the teams perform from year to year. There is no doubt LSU is a big dog in the room, and as we continue to move forward, it will be interesting to see who else joins that club.
