Well, we knew it would be competitive...

A fun, competitive contest between Mizzou and Bucknell was decided by what we will call an eventful final 11 seconds.

First, Phil Pressey, who scored 26 points for the afternoon, missed a key 1-and-1 with 11 seconds left and Mizzou up 64-63. This left the Tigers vulnerable to a last-second basket by Bucknell. But Mike Muscala, who had 22 points on the day, stepped out of bounds while receiving a pass with four seconds left. Earnest Ross, 1-for-4 from the line to that point, made two free throws, then Muscala caught an inbounds pass at halfcourt, and was fouled by Jabari Brown. He made the first free throw and intentionally missed the second, but the clock expired in the ensuing scramble. And it goes down as a W. Whew.

Study Hall tomorrow. For now, all that matters is that Mizzou is 11-2.
