6. 1993-94 revisited (part 3)

PowerMizzou: Perfection: Making a Run

"There was one game I missed. I went down to visit my family over Christmas break and I'm driving back on December 30th, the Mercer game. I'm driving back somewhere in central Missouri on a two-lane highway hearing Mike Kelly call the game and he's saying Paul O'Liney. I was listening to the game for 15-20 minutes. I couldn't tell if Paul O'Liney was on our team or Mercer's team. I was like who is this guy? You could hear it on the broadcast that Paul O'liney hits a three and you could hear the fans chanting through the broadcast 'We like the new guy.' Here I am the guy who is supposed to know everything about the team and relay it to the media and I feel like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid when Robert Redford is up on the hill saying 'Who are these guys?' I'm saying 'Who is this guy?'" --Steve Wujek, Mizzou basketball sports information director
