Okay, admittedly, this is not at all an original idea. However, I still think we might be able to have some fun with it. It's kind of amazing how spidery musical taste can be. Ever been disappointed with someone because you found out they liked Band X, or hated Band Y, and somehow that violated one of your rules? I have. And it's so silly! What does your choice of music say about you: Nothing! And yet, something. Ever been party to a conversation where one person asks another, "What kind of music do you like?' And then comes the biggest cop out of all time: "I like all kinds of music." Or, put more honestly, My music is very personal to me, and I really don't want to get into it with you. I'm guessing we have a very wide range of musical tastes here at Rock M Nation. Yesterday's Super Bowl Halftime discussion (which spilled over into today) was interesting to observe. It made me wonder what music our community likes. Somehow it's much easier to snipe at what you don't like than it is to go on record with your actual favorites. And that, my friends, is what I am inviting you to do here. Specifically:
If you were going to be stranded on an island, and you could only take five albums with you to listen to forever and ever, what would you chose?
It's harder than it sounds! Do you spend three choices on your favorite artist, or do you force yourself to bring as much variety as possible? Of course, as soon as you hit Post you'll kick yourself for one glaring omission or another. That's too bad; you're stuck there with what you brought. Should be interesting..
Oh, and these are in no particular order. Don't do THAT to yourself too. Narrowing your catalog down to five should be challenging enough..
