2013 Depth Chart | I thought Crawford would have to put on some weight to get ready to play tackle, but MUtigers.com has him listed at 285 this morning. So ... yeah. If he brings it in August, the opportunity is available. |
2014 Depth Chart | By 2014, Crawford should be carrying 300 good pounds. It'll come down to talent because he'll be pretty physically impressive. |
A majority of schools are recruiting the 6-foot-4, 260-pound prospect as a defensive end, but if he continues to grow some may look to move him inside. He is fine with wherever he lines up at when he reaches the next level.
"If they move me, I will make the shift," Crawford said. "I am going to work my butt off wherever they put me at."
Crawford is a defensive line prospect who could land at defensive end in the right scheme, but we feel he will more ideally fit as a defensive tackle at the college level. He has good height and looks to have a fairly thick build at this stage, but will need to continue to add more good mass to his frame to play inside. He displays a good initial burst off the ball. He needs to be more consistent with his pad level, but demonstrates the ability to be able to take on a blocker and hold his ground. He is active with his hands when taking on blocks.
